Ivor Greenstreet said directly to President John Mahama and Vice President Kwesi Amissah-Arthur that: “You don’t care”.
“Nobody is feeling your better Ghana”, Greenstreet shouted when he delivered his party’s solidarity message to the NDC at the congress at the Baba Yara Stadium in the Ashanti regional Captial, Kumasi – stronghold of the main opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In the full glare of the President, Vice President, former President Jerry Rawlings, and thousands of leaders and supporters of the NDC, a defiant Greenstreet said: “…Currently nobody, I mean nobody is feeling your better Ghana.”
“Continuous ‘dumsor dumsor,’ corruption from top to bottom, left right inside out, and all the challenges you are facing [are] suffocating the Ghanaian people.”
He added: “We would have thought that perhaps you may have used an occasion like this to discuss policies, programmes and solutions to all the difficulties we are facing as a nation, but no, you chose today to share your Christmas gifts with each other.”
“Ghanaians are not happy at all. This ‘bronya’ is dry. Too too dry,” he told the President, adding: “The most painful thing of all is that you don’t care.”
“NDC continue, we are watching you, Ghana is watching you, do what you want to do, we also know what we’ll come and do…make sure you’ll elect executives who will be able to steer your parties affairs when you are in opposition. Boys abr3.”
The wheelchair-bound Politicians has been called names and criticised by leaders and supporters of the NDC after his bluntness. While Majority Leader Alban Bagbin has said he believed Greenstreet was possessed by some demons, which caused him to be “so emotional”, presidential staffer Sam George wrote on his Facebook wall that: “Ivor Greenstreet apparently needs elevation to see the Better Ghana.”
However, Nkrumah said Greenstreet’s message was crafted by the CPP to capture the mood and mind of the entire country.

“In the last six years, the NDC has borrowed US$27 billion. Before that, we, the NPP, borrowed a total of US$5.5 billion in eight years. Compare that to the NDC borrowing $27 billion in six years and ask yourself what they have done with all that money,” the running mate to Nana Akufo-Addo said.
He said, though a lot more money has been spent, it is a paradox of economic management that this level of excessive spending has only led to greater hardships being visited on the people.
“NDC inherited a public debt stock of GHS9.5 billion in 2009,” the former Deputy Governor of the central bank said. “Today, Ghana’s debt has gone up to GHS65.7 billion. So when I say the stakes are high I am talking about the destiny of our country, Ghana, the future of the youth.”
“The NDC has been taxing everything, including condoms and cutlasses. In terms of resources, this NDC government has had more resources than any other government. We did not have oil. Yet, Ghanaians know what we did with the limited resources we had. We spent money responsibly to create the NHIS, introduce Capitation Grant, expand access to education, we spent wisely on infrastructure and built more roads than any other government,” he said.

There light bulb has not come on for most of our leaders yet because they're determined to look at every other place in society for the cause of our malaise instead of taking a look at what stare at us in the face daily and unabated; tribalism.
A read of any article by any Ghanaian, political or from the educated elite class, affirms a downright subscription of tribal and party loyalties over country and anyone who has done his or her homework on development of any nation knows it takes the marshaling of the people of a nation of strengths far beyond personal preferences to achieve results. No amount of structural changes in our education system is going to cure our ills no matter how high those students get along in the pursuit of their studies unless and until they come to terms with a higher inner calling for their purpose in life.
From our politicians through our church leaders to the street thugs aptly called foot soldiers, we preach and sow seeds of hatred of the tribal kind. Yet we pretend that our “men of God” can choose to stay silent on matters of evil, discrimination, tribal preferences and acceptance of stealing and or mismanagement of the political kind when theirs and our preferred political party is in power but are birthed anew with voice when the opposition party is in power. Germany's Hitler sought out the best in education and social changes for Germany but without moral authority suffered. Ghana and our leaders can implement as many changes we like each month of the year if we choose but the rot of tribalism and political party loyalties over love of or for country will continue to doom Ghana. A highly educated Ghanaian who continue to harbor tribal superiority will never amount to anything except become known for their vitriol because there is never room in life for hatred and good works at the same time anywhere in this God’s earth.
The economy is hitting many families hard and many have run out of ideas.
