Rashid Sumaila, Red Star Belgrade defender
Rashid Sumaila, Red Star Belgrade defender, has been invited by head coach of the senior national team, the Black Stars, coach Kwasi Appiah for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Kenya.
The late call up, was as a result of an ankle injury Nuhu develop on Saturday in TSG Hoffenheim clash with Freiburg in the German Bundesliga hence been ruled out of the game.
TSG Hoffenheim have confirmed that Nuhu, sustained an ankle injury and would be out for four weeks, according to a statement from Mr. Dan Kweku Yeboah, spokesperson for the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA) and Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) Liaison Team.
It added that, defender John Boye also sustained a muscle injury whilst playing for French side, Metz in a league game and would be unavailable for the Black Stars game slated for Sunday, September 8, 2018 in Nairobi.
However, Boye would not be be replaced, according to the technical team. The Black Stars would travel to Nairobi with a 20-man squad and would begin camping in Addis Ababa, from the 3rd-7th September.
