Ghana became the fourth country to qualify for the World Cup Africa zone play-offs when they defeated Zambia 2-1 Friday in a winners-take-all Group D clash in Kumasi.

Ghana join Cameroon, Algeria, Burkina Faso, the Cape Verde Islands, Egypt, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast, Nigeria and Senegal in the last play-off matches, due to take place month and in November

A seeded draw on September 16 in Cairo will divide the 10 group winners into five two-leg ties with the victors qualifying for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

The September 12th FIFA rankings will be used to determine the seeding with the five highest ranked teams in one pot and the other five teams will be placed in another pot. Based on August rankings, this will be seeding:

First Pot: Ivory Coast, Ghana, Algeria, Nigeria, Cape Verde

Second Pot: Burkina Faso, Cameroon, Egypt, Senegal, Ethiopia

There will be also a draw for each match to determine which team plays host first.

The home and away play-off matches to find the five (5) African representatives at the FIFA World Cup Brazil 2014 will be played during: 11-15 October 2013: 1st leg and 15-19 November 2013: 2nd leg.
