We have two more matches to play (one away and one home). Hope we face Burkina. I am not sure about Ethiopia, they can be tricky.

Unless FIFA uses their rankings to seed else Cape Verde will be seeded ahead of Egypt. You remember Egypt was no where at the last nations cup while Cape Verde got to the quarter finals right?

POW, your crime is that you didn't check the facts before you posted your comment. According to your second comment, you didn't even know whether, in updated fifa ranking, Cape Verde is rated higher than Egypt or the vise versa.

You even gave a reference to support your statement as if your statement carried fact. Here was the supporting statement you added, allow me to quote, "You remember Egypt was no where at the last nations cup while Cape Verde got to the quarter finals right?" POW Concluded. Here you presented your case as if you knew what was going on which you didn't.

When I came to ask you on your saying, you came out with the truth saying, as you hardly check on the rankings. With such a statement and a supporting attachment, who would have known the last time you visited fifa.com for the ranking facts? You mean, you didn't know then where did you get supporting statement from?

Your crime here was that, you present your statement as if you knew which team was raking higher than the other between Cape Verde and Egypt.

Instead of you to admit it that you were wrong on making that mistake, here was what you wrote on top of it, "I said that thinking perhaps Egypt might rank higher on the FIFA ladder but if I'm wrong what's the fuss?" Waow POW!

5. Cape Verde Islands (6)

LOWER RANKS
6. Burkina Faso (7)
7. Cameroon (8)
8. Egypt (11)

10. Ethiopia (27)

Using the fifa rankings, as it stands now, the top teams would stand at they are whilst the lower teams would be balloted. This means any of the top ranked teams can get any of the bottom ranked teams. Therefore, we need to prepare for we may end up with Burkina Faso, a team that beat us not recently. They are more athletic team than we are. That would be our disadvantage when we meet them. They use their strength to break us down, in terms of stamina.

None of the lower teams would be easier to beat. Here are my reasons:

Cameroon is a team we can beat because their squad is not as strong as it was before. They have too many old players who don't play well anymore. Their new and young players also lack experience. Yes, we have new and young players as well but ours have been much exposed, and therefore, have more experience. Based on Cameroon's performances, it looks to me as if the nation is now building the team but doesn't want to let go the old players. This rebuilding may take at least four years to get the team to be a real threat.

Egypt has more youth in its team and these players are dangerous. They have the skills in penetrating opponent's defenders. Experience, though, is what we could use against them. They like keeping possessions but has a weaker midfield department compare to ours. Physically, they are not that strong. As usual, their zigzag passing has become their trademark.

The pairing is by luck, not by FIFA ranking. The seeding is by FIFA ranking then the drawing will dtermine who plays who, and where the first leg will be played.

Seeding is to give the stronger teams the advantage of not playing one another.

No one is underrating any country, but they want to avoid a situation where, say, Burundi, Rwanda, Somalia, Erithrea, or Mauritania representing Africa in the world cup. If you want to be seeded, prove it on the field, like Cape Verde and Burkina are doing!
