Coconut Grove Sharks emerge champions

Cape Coast, May 11, GNA - Elmina Coconut Grove Sharks beat Mankessim Mir F/C 1-0 in the final match of the Central Region Division Two Middle League to gain promotion to the First Division. They also emerged as the League champions in the week-long Middle League which ended at the Robert Mensah stadium, Cape Coast on Tuesday. Coconut Grove Sharks' midfielder, Kobena Sepato scored the match winner through a spot kick.

The referee's decision to award the penalty generated confusion and resulted in a fierce clash between supporters of the two clubs with the security detailed to maintain order at the stadium had it tough controlling the situation.

Nana Kodwo Conduah VI, Omanhene of Edina Traditional Area was among the number of dignitaries who presented trophies to the champion club and seven other zonal champions who participated in the tournament.
