Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan continued his impressive performance in the Arabian Gulf League as he scored yet another hat-trick against relegation-threatened Al Shaab in a 5-0 mauling on Thursday.
Al Ain travelled to Khalid Bin Mohammed Stadium (Al Sharjah) hoping to salvage at least a point but it was the Ghana captain who courageously led a rout to snatch every point at stake.
‘The Baby Jet’ opened the scoring in the 12th minute after he was played through by Mohammed Fayez and doubled it 34 minutes later on the night.
Mohamed Abdulrahman and Ryan Yslam Mohamad each scored on the night but it was Gyan who grabbed the headlines when he scored Al Ain’s fifth and his third for the night in injury time.
