Which league was Accra Hearts of Oak playing when it become 8th best team in the world? Finally who is the current highest goal scorer in Ghana National team and even you dont remember Asamoah Gyan was the first to score in 2006 world cup, and 2010 African cup and world cup. The league is sub-standard. You cannot judge his performance/ form on that league.
Gyan cannot even be scoring freely if he were in Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, South Africa or even The Gambia.

Komla, the bottom line is that he is earning his stripes in that league, whether you like it or not, and those stripes are translating into his performance for the national team.

Yes, he is a businessman and I admire him for that. Footballers have a short LIFE SPAN (career wise). He must therefore make all the money he can at Al Ain. There is nothing wrong with that. It is true the league Gyan is playing is not like the prime European leagues but it takes someone who is a first among equals to be scoring like the way Gyan is scoring. Remember, he is not the only African player playing in Asia; also, many African players had gone to play in the Asian leagues in the past but they never achieved as much as Gyan is doing.
Gyan has distinguished himself as Ghana's all-time best striker. Apart from the fact that he is a prolific scorer, he is also excellent in setting-up others to score. In Brazil, if he and his colleagues are fully fit, nothing can stop them from going beyond the group stage.
