Board member of the Kotoko Express newspaper and columnist, Kojo Addae Mensah, has lamented the poor patronage of the home matches of the nation’s pride, the Black Stars.

Addae-Mensah, who is the Chief Executive Officer of Databank, attributed the recent happenings to the attitude of the Black Stars during the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil, as well as, the impasse between the Ghana Football Association and the Ministry of Youth and Sports over the past few months.

He reiterated the need for the President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama to intervene immediately so as to prevent the Black Stars from sinking because recent happenings do not suggest a bright future ahead.

He said; “I plead with His Excellency to stand up and put things in place, as the Black Stars represent the soul of the nation. With the Africa Cup of Nations and World Cup qualifiers ahead, we need an immediate intervention from him because the feud has surpassed beyond the two bodies.

“Former Presidents, Ignatius Kutu Acheampong, Kwame Nkrumah and Jerry Rawlings have all intervened before, so he should step up and call the two bodies to order.”

He also pleaded with the media to mount pressure on the two bodies so as to resolve issues amicably in the common interest of the country.
