I rest the problem right on the shoulders of the minister. Talking about showing people where power lies by punishing bs because not all the people in ghana earn similar to players is wrong wrong wrong. Am sure if nii present a vision or plan and communicate with the people and they buy into it then they will stop voting for the fa boss who am sure he detests so much he will rather bs dont even qualify for wc or afcon. Ghana is a democracy now, not authocracy or dictatorship. Finding consensus for actions, negotiating and discussing big issues with people you detest, stakeholders or people you feel are insignificant or small boys as a big man is difficult too but it leads to understanding, people uniting for success and is the best way to go. Nii must operate as you do in democratic conditions not dictatorial and self righteouness like with a military regime

The main problem is how the GFA members are hiding behind Black Stars bonuses and expenses to steal money. All the GFA members, without a single exception, are involved. Nyantakyi is always elected unopposed, in case you haven't noticed. Also, fresh up your knowledge about how the GFA members vehemently defend the bonuses and expenditures. It's just not worth engaging the GFA in any negotiation because they are criminals. They also have no fear of laws in Ghana. All the GFA knows is stealing money so denying them money is how to get their attention. Yes, our football will suffer in the process but that is the price to pay for letting this nonsense perpetuate this far.

I wonder sometimes how people like Mr. Addae Mensah became CEOs in Ghana. His comments is just idiotic, as if he lacks analytical ability. Mahama is good at giving empty promises and setting up useless commissions.

Does Addae Mensah think Mahama isn't aware of what is going on? Mahama appointed the minister and pushing him to take these actions. It's really difficult to understand Mahama. He's been paying all these high bonuses including $70K SUVs to these players who haven't won anything. Meanwhile stadiums are in deplorable conditions. All of sudden there is no money. It's crazy people.

But under Nyantakyi it has become the Gfa pride to the neglect of the local league, colts and juvenile football, women football etc. They say the black stars belong to them and not to Ghanaians, so they shud take it, watch their own matches, and leave us alone. If Nyantakyi can't handle the FA then he shud resign and let a more competent person do that job.

Indeed, Black Stars is going through some difficult moment now due to the acrimony between the minister and the GFA. I would love to see the minister succeed in cleaning the GFA if indeed he is doing the right thing. Let us not forget that the mother body of GFA, FIFA is full of rot and her ever protective posture could have made GFA also to be like her. Meanwhile, Mr Minister remember Malam Inusah and be tactful.

We tend to cheapen the position and role of the President – the President doesn’t need to personally intervene in this. The current situation is an organizational one, a systems problem. The leadership of the GFA simply has to or be made to understand and abide by the administrative position and mandate of the GFA in relation to the overarching mandate of the Ministry of Sports.
The current leadership of the GFA is drunk with the notion of autonomy and independence that FIFA rules apparently confer on it. FIFA rules forbid government from interfering in GFA’s selection of its leaders or its internal administration. In recent times, FIFA temporarily suspended countries including France, Nigeria for so-called governmental interference, and has warned a few others.
However, the practical reality and common sense is that the GFA for instance is subordinate and must account to the sports ministry which is the relevant organ of government. It’s the national government that makes policy and plans on sports as well as funds the national sporting program which encompasses soccer and the GFA. As such, the FIFA position does not make GFA absolutely independent of the overall higher level government direction as in the case of any other government organization or agency. FIFA rules or not, the current GFA is being insubordinate to government authority as represented by the sports ministry, and must be brought to order.
FIFA itself is subordinate and subject to national and international governments and laws as recent events have shown – e.g., the US and Swiss governments applied their national laws to to unravel Seth Blatter’s FIFA empire. In fact the FIFA rule of non-interference is a bogus one and must be challenged. If a handful of countries come together to call this FIFA bluff, the non-interference rule would vanish promptly. Can you imagine a world cup without France or Germany etc?

I'm against paying heavy bonuses to BS players but I believe the sports minister is acting petty and mischievous like a village dictator. The government's reckless spending and out of control corruption since the last election to date is what compels the footballers to ask for their share of the national pie. If the nation is that poor and broke then the President's over generosity in this election period is very disturbing. It makes reason stare.
