English Premier League side Newcastle United are plotting a move for out-of-favor Leicester City star Daniel Amartey.
The Ghanaian international is yet to play a single minute for the Foxes this season despite returning to full fitness.
The 25 year old has emerged as a top priority for Magpies boss Steve Bruce.
The manager is reportedly looking for a defensive-minded midfielder who can also operate in the back line, and Amartey fits the bill.
According to reports in England, the cash-strapped Newcastle United will attempt to sign the versatile Ghanaian on an initial loan deal when the January transfer window opens.
Amartey is under contract at the King Power Stadium until 2022.
