As much as I agree with you to a point, I think Gyan should be kept in the BS.
Gyan is not slick and or tactical striker. The fact is Gyan has been fielded in games as a lone striker, that is the problem. All opposing teams knows that Gyan could be easily tamed when double teamed. Gyan is not as slick as say, Van Persey, so when he is doubled teamed he is done. Even Van Persey get tamed sometimes when double teamed. But because there are 2 or 3 other strikers around, he successfully gets around effectively.
Coach Appiah should select and field 3 or four strikers in each game. This way, if Gyan is Double teamed other strikers could take advantage. Or other strikers could hold balls to attract defender which could create space for Gyan.

If you watch Manchester United games, they play with 3-4 strikers per game. Effectively, they are able to score more goals even when they concede a goal or two, effectively Manchester United hardly got beaten.
I do not understand why Coach Appiah invited 8-10 mid-field players, 8-10 defenders and invite only three strikers; knowing well that B.S. lacks slick tactical striker. Gyan could use the company of other strikers. He is always alone and let me tell you Gyan works hard to his best ability. But he could only do so much when he got swarmed by 3 defenders all time. The Coach could use Gyan wisely and effectively.
Likewise, Kwadwo Asamoah who plays so well with Juventus as a midfielder was fielded to play defense, consequently K. Asamoah seemed missing in our games.

So Coach Appiah should know how to use players to make them play effectively. Unfortunately, Coach Appiah has disappointed me up to this point. I hope he realized his mistakes and make out better next time. The Coach should invite at least five strikers and field 4 in each game. One or 2 strikers should be reserved whilst 3 are always in a game. After all, what wins a game is goals. No matter how good our defense, other teams could score against us. But we should have strikers to score back. Gyan could be useful.

The team was playing very well and we all thought we will be bringing the cup home until he went down. i am not a fan of PAINTSIL but when it comes to team sports its not about personal plays, its all about team work. With him in there it definately made us 95% better. Go watch our matches again to understand what i am saying. And for AKWASI APPIAH he should grow some BALLS or RESIGN period.

They won the european cup, went on to win the World cup and again won the european cup. Watch the way they play and you are not in doubt about their capabilities. The coach has a plan and has a what one would describe as a team and not just a group of talented footballers. Derek Boateng and Annan should have been out of the team long ago because they haven't been able to play any good football anywhere in Europe. When Annan left that sub-standard league for a more competitive one, what happened? He was a total flop, so what made us believe he could do well playing for the Black Stars. So also was Derek Boateng. A good coach should be able to pick up a talent even from those playing on grassless pitches. Certainly, Appiah is not that kind of coach. Asene Wenger knows a talent just by a kick

How long was Appiah on the assistant coaching's seat? Wasn't it six years? How long has he been on the main seat? Almost a year. When you both figures, you should get 7 years. Can he be classified as a good coach now? Not yet. He has three more years to go to become a good coach. That ten years I gave Appiah has 3 more years to go though the job has been given to him. Yes, the job was given to him; on the contrary, both you and I know that it wasn't his turn to be given that position. Therefore, you see, that ten years is right there before you.

Now, the reason why you don't want me to go back to the previous comments is because you were good at it. You used to go back mostly and refer to them. Now your decision didn't favor the country, you trying to block your mind to what is truth. Do you want me to go back and copy some of your comments with references attached to them because I could.

personally i think we were short of high performance players, they system we play was shambles because we do not have the personal to play that system which the coach deployed, playing that 4-5-1 system we need a striker that can hold the ball up for the midfielders to joint up quickly,gyan was not able to do that, hence the ball kept on coming back to us.rule two is ball retention, if you can not keep the ball the opposition its going to hurt you, thirdly we did not have a proper holding midfielder who will be discipline,so these players are welcome

I have just watched the boys from AC Milan beat Barcelona with goals from former international Kevin-Prince Boateng and current international Sulley Muntari. A truly brilliant performance from ACM. I hear that Boateng is thinking of coming back to the Black Stars, well, that would be a mistake, however as for Sulley; I would play him any day as he is a general in mid-field. As for those people who are verbally abusing the coach, I have only this to say to you all “because you didn’t go – you don’t know how they fought”!! I am happy that the coach wants to play Ayem with Sulley and Frimpong. However if we don’t Sudan, then its all over for 2014!!

AC Milan stunned Barcelona 2-0 in the first leg of its Champions League last-16 tie on Wednesday, beating the Spanish giant for the first time in eight matches.

Kevin-Prince Boateng gave Milan the lead in controversial circumstances in the 57th minute. Cristian Zapata appeared to handle Riccardo Montolivo's assist in the buildup.

Barcelona players protested but to no avail and Gerard Pique was booked in the process.

Sulley Muntari sealed the win nine minutes from time with a well-worked goal.

Milan contained Barcelona's potent attack impressively, allowing it just two shots on target all match.

The result was a massive boost to Milan's turnaround from a dreadful start to the season. Massimiliano Allegri's side was 15th in the Italian league after eight games but has risen to third.

It still went into the home match as a firm underdog against a Barcelona side which has lost only twice all season in the league and in Europe.
