A combined 6 goals in 53 matches! The assists may also count, but they barely come. They play in France! We are not talking about playing in England, Germany, Spain or Italy. If they were so good, they would be playing for the big teams; they are not as good as they think.

Their actions only demonstrate how immature they are. I am not sure they should be called back into the team again. Look at what Asamoah Gyan did! He knew he was going to be found out in England, so he took the easy path and went to the Middle East. Since he's been back, can anyone justify the energy and time put into getting him back?

For those not old enough to remember, Opoku Afriyie's exclusion from Kotoko resulted in Kotoko winning the African Cup. Opoku Afriyie was the best player in the team. This is talking about players like Carr, Appiah, Papa Arko, Kofi Badu, Asaase, Kumi, Opoku Nti, Kyenkyenhene, Ampadu, Haruna, etc.; Ayew brothers would not even be on the reserves of this team. Yet, the best player, Opoku Afriyie, was not put on the bench, but expelled from the team for the sake of unity.

I went to regional games with the Northern Region team and a lot of the Kotoko team during their dad’s time, yet none of these players, who were light years ahead of these Ayew brothers, exhibited the kind of arrogance these brothers are displaying. Take the money out and these Gyans, Essiens, Boatengs and Ayews would dare not exhibit this kind of arrogance and disrespect. What has happened to these players that has not happened to Muntari? Say what you want about Muntari, but he is head and shoulders above these spoiled brats, in my book. And in my book, the Ayew brothers should not be called back into the team.

We need these boys together with Kevin so we need to find a way to sit down and try to understand them. They have legitimate concerns. How can you drop Jordan from the Black Stars. At his age tell me which Ghanaian striker has more potential and plays for a top European team in a very competitive league. GFA and the coaching staff were wrong. This is the reason why Essien and others are not playing for Ghana. There are other players like Welbeck who were advised not to play for Black Stars because of these "dictatorships" in the GFA. Also there are players in the Black Stars who support Jordan and the others so reconcile the GFA, coaching/management staff and players to eradicate these problems. GFA should STOP dictating to the coach or find a better coach.

Meanwhile everyone who played a part in the Black Stars 1978 winning got wealth only the players. Look around you and see all old great footballer hanging in there but all past GFA President and members got a good business deal. Abdul Razak was sold to New York Cosmos the Chairman of Kotoko got General Electric Rep deal thanks to the owners of Cosmos Warner Communications who had a deal with GE. We do not need to question the patriotism of only the players where is the patriotism of GFA. The GFA and her President did not even believed in Made in Ghana for almost 15 years we were been coach by Serbians. How many sponsorship deal and who are behind the deal, do you remember the three ladies contractors who show up from no where. God have mercy on us.

Oh, I love the Ayews, how I wish that the kids will follow their father's footstep; dedication, selfless, and love for his one and only motherland, Ghana. Well, the boys are young and still learning, some may describe their behaviour as pride, it may be but I think they just hold a different opinion in the way they look at things. Out of hurt and misunderstanding people often take wrong decisions. However, let's not forget, these are our sons, they give off their best for our country when all is well. Please let's bring them back to the drawing board, lets not reject or demonised them. This is not the time to insult or accuse one another. They have spoken out of hurt. When one is hurt he is hurt, whether it's right or wrong. I think we need to show our love for them expecially at this difficult time(Love never fails, we don't only love in good times but even in bad times). Let's reach out to them and help solve the conflict and any misunderstanding. Life has "ups and downs" and we are all learning. No one is perfect.

I am not sure what influences took place in ACN selection, but Ojukwu’s point is that the reaction by the Ayew brothers is disrespectful to those who gave the Black Stars its enviable reputation. Think of Abukari, Sunday, Malik, George Alhassan, Jones, Akwetey, Awula, CK Gyamfi, Osei Kofi, Yaw Sam, Mfum, Osumanu, Akwasi Owusu, Aggrey Finn, the Eshuns, Tettey Guleku, Maama Acquah, Anas, the Pahas, Robert, Carr, Asebi Boakye, Abedi, Tony Yeboah, and many countless players who adorned the Black Star jersey. These players busted their tails to just get into the national team, and for guys who are not even half as good to cheapen the accomplishments is hard to swallow even for those of us who are just observers.

You would agree with me that there is a bit of arrogance with the brothers. Wakaso was “punished” by his European club for reporting late to the team; he gave a reason comparable to what Ayew gave to the Black Stars. Now tell me, is Wakaso’s team in error here? Rules must be obeyed to foster discipline and unity in a team sport.

I totally agree that it is time for Nyantakyi to go, but what process do we have in place to make sure that the cartel at the GFA can be dismantled and transparency instituted? Therein lies the problem; what plans do Ghanaians have to address what everyone sees as a problem? It may be surprising to you, but I truly like what Akwasi Appiah did to get Ghana to the competition. The issue with Appiah is that when he got to the tournament he was engulfed in a tunnel vision. It is hard to understand why he decided to play 5 matches in less than two weeks with almost the same players?

Gyan, at best, could only effectively play one match in a week; he could have been more effectively brought on as a substitute in the latter parts of the second half. He gambled on Painstil’s substitution in the semi-finals by stressing on offence and lost when the offensive assault stalled. He erred in not putting more physically comparable players in the semi-final and in the third-place matches. The quickness of Atsu and Asante could have been more effective when the other teams were tiring; in this regard, Yiadom and Adomah could have started against Mali and Burkina Faso while bringing in Gyan as a sub. My reason for wanting Appiah kept is that a sense of the “old” Black Stars was exhibited in the preparation and parts of the tournament. I take his glaring shortcomings as part of the growing pains.

This issue should not be about history. Contemporary sports is a lot more about investing in the athlete's overall well-being, both physically and psychologically. The GFA has not invested the necessary resources to develop our players beyond what their clubs are doing, yet it expects absolute master-servant obedience and loyalty. As far as I am concerned, all the GFA members can shove footballs up their "you know where". The Ayews, Essiens, Gyans, Boatengs, and other players are justified if they decide to quit playing international football. The GFA needs to learn that it cannot expect to reap where it hasn't sown.

They are no where close to the way their dad played, yet with the cold friction between their dad and Anthony Yeboah, none of them resolved to resigning from the team. DEDE just want Coach Appiah and his staff to be fired and the captaincy handed to him, we should not succumb to his threat but rather we should let him retire prematurely so that future players will not embark on this nonsense.

I don't hate Dede and Jordan and you are here throwing their parents name around. Some of us might even know them better and have visited them at their East Legon residence. As a matter of fact, Maha has called my house before talking to my niece who she went to Saint Roses secondary school at Akwatia with. I am old enough to be the father of Dede and Jordan, I am not jealous of them. As a matter of fact, I was the number one Dede fan in 2010 when I compared him to Messi and called him as good as Messi.

I just want this I am retired from Blackstar thing to stop immediately because I am sick and tired of these Players. They have special skills and that is why we pay money to go and see them play but that does not make their contribution to Ghana more than the Teachers, Doctors, Policemen and any ordinary worker. The only difference is that, they can retire young and don't have to worry about finances but what Dede wants should not be catered to. Dede wants Coach Appiah and others to be fired and the GFA should not give in to his demands.

Respect our players and they will also be there when Ghana needs them.

When Essien got injured, GFA did nothing. Yet GFA still twists players arms to pay something just to be part of the team.

GFA must change, better management must be put in place and the Black Stars will be a better team.

The national team should be a blend of talents with the same purpose and should entertain no caballing within the team . In the 1980s, we assembled a great number of very talented players but it never was a team and never won any title. A T.E.A.M (Together Everyone Achieves More) is like being your brother's keeper.
Those wearing the national colors in football today are no different from those of the Abedi Ayew era, some of whom perceived themselves as bigger than the national team. No matter how talented a player is if he's not wearing his national team jersey to represent his nation he's not counted among the world's greats. It's one moment of pride representing your nation in a competitive game. Those who think they are doing their nation a favor by playing may be missing their doctor's appointments. Their sense of patriotism should be questioned if they cannot trim their egos and allow the national team spirit to take pre-eminence over personal ambitions for no singular ambition is greater than the nation's conglomerate of ambitions.
The loss of their sense of patriotism comes from being over-pampered with money. These youngsters are too inexperienced to handle fame and wealth. They need to be schooled properly before they ever get hold of their first mega bucks.It's about time it was made a national requirement for all sportsmen have a college degree or under very special circumstances a minimum high school diploma. Well educated sportsmen are more likely to harness their talents for the national good without wealth and fame getting in the way.
