The crucial games are the two away games. Zambia will not find it easy with Sudan in their home game.
Then comes the last round which is a home and away affair. Really, there's a long way off.

Akwasi you are right. In general the Stars showed a lot of tactical discipline and awareness. However it is important that more work is done on individual players abilities in order to realise their full potential. For instance it was evident Wakaso Mubarak has developed a bit of pace but there is more room for further development. Sometimes he easily gets dispossessed because of his slow pace and in his anxiety to win back the ball commits infringement in dangerous areas. And Rabiu Mohammed was excellent in the holding midfield but he needs to be cautious in his tackles. He commits a lot of fouls because some of his tackles are too crunchy. The dilly-dallying with the ball instead of clearing or playing to touch was still in evidence by some of the defenders. This needs to stop. Lastly, it was nice to see the Stars play possessive football but I think it will be better if the defence do so a bit upfront from the Ghana 18. They were passing the ball too close to the Ghana 18 they risked being dispossessed by opponents who will have a clear sight on goal. Congrats to the players the coach and his technical team.

I wonder how much time a national coach can have for PIA 'player individual attention'.
These players are not collected from
a breeding ground (the 'otope' type) where they are brought home to be fed with greens, 'kontomire' and the like.
And or are fed with Ostermilk/Lactogen where they grow
uncontrollably.
They are professionals who are adequately paid sitting comfortably well for having 'just fun' in the chase of the round leather ball.
They are scattered all over the globe.
Therefore it gets imperative that any player called to represent his/her country must, OOPS! should be good enough and are aware of what is expected of them once they show up.
Who therefore has got the gut, the effrontery to teach him/her how to play?
Is it the coach?
Hell no!!.
It is the player himself who plays himself out the game of football. Nature calls it a 'talent'. A gift peculiarly endowed with each individual.
How fore could a coach bring/develop a player to its potential?
Any talented player must develop skills to supplement the very he is endowed with thru constant practice which a coach has little or nothing to offer.
The longest time a national coach stays with these players are from three days to four weeks that obviously makes individual attention impossible.
A coach is trained to detect/unearth talent. Should develop the feel and the knack to pick and choose and assemble quality players.
Teach formations, strategies and exercise regiments necessary and generally to control/withstand fatigue and exhaustion.
For a player to reach his potential, he must eschew all forms of distractions. Must be dedicated, disciplined and self motivated.
The essence why some players are good- better-best than others.
Players win games.
Assemble the best players and everything shall fall in place.
I stand corrected.

One of the attributes of a good coach is to identify the strengths and weaknesses of individual players;develop their strenghts and work on their weaknesses in that way the full potential of the player could be realised. Wakaso has great talent and will be a great assest to the Black Stars. But he is yet to reach his full potential because of his slow pace on the ball. Akwasi can work on that. I remember very well as a youngster ( as a ball boy at the then Kumasi Sports Stadium) the Black Stars Brazillian coach, Oswaldo Sampaio used to take Yaw Sam on extra training after the team's training sessions. He will ask him to ran up and down the empty stands several times to build his speed. No wonder Yaw Sam was seen as one of the speedy wingers Ghana has ever produced. If you have time to watch top teams in training, you will see coaches asking players who have the potential to execute Free Kicks to keep practising on their skill after the team's training is over. That's my point, bro Sarks. Hope it doesn't BEAT YOU.

I didn't miss a second of the game...at the end ghana won 4-0, fine...that's what we all wanted...but to be constructive, the black stars did not play the way the black stars usually play-that passing game- it was not there and it seems like we cant play the passing game no more...it was evident in south africa...it is now kick and run...it surprises me that the black stars these days cannot hold the ball for a minute..two-three passes and they lose the ball...i remember ghana vs brazil at the 2006 world cup...the commentator asked rhetorically whether it was brazil that was wearing white...why he asked?... because those in white (black stars) were playing the passing game and possessing the ball more than the brazilians who are noted of playing the passing game...and on sunday i didnt see the passing game which every ghanaian knows that it is the way ghanaian teams: u-17, u-21, u-23 and the senior team play...you may win the game alright but if you don't play the passing game, or as we ghanaians call it, "fa ma wonua", then you didn't play well...ghana vs cape verde at south africa, we won 2-0 but the losers played better than the winners-it was kick and run and boom boom...and so our coaches must go back to the drawing board and see that we go back to our original 4-4-2 attacking free-flow football that we are noted for

When Chelsea is playing against Arsenal in the EPL, the commentator always says that "Arsenal plays the football and Chelsea scores the goals." Chelsea knocked out Barcelona last year and went on to win the cup. They let Barcelona play the football, and Chelsea scored the goals.

Yes, the world got to know Ghana from 2006 WC.
I believe Mr. AA is correcting the errors at the Afcon so lets all support him to succeed. He is really building a good team for the Brasil.

The Stars were excellent against Sudan all the same, the team must be reinforced because of the enormity of the task ahead. It is good that the coach knows this.
The two matches in June are going to be difficult because they are away and within a space of just one week. We need to get it very right to avoid what happened to Zambia in Lesotho(or even worse) from happening to us also.
We should be able to persuade Dede and Kelvin Prince Boateng to return quickly. Also, good old John Mensah should be called back into the team. It will be a delight to see the selection from Dede, Prince, Warris, Wakasu, Agyemang Badu, Kwadzo Asamoah, Frimpong etc to play upfront while John Mensah partners Vorsah in central defence. If we get maximum points in Sudan and Lesotho, the morale will be too high for Zambia to be able to spoil the party in Kumasi in September.
Even after winning the group, it is not yet a done deal. There will be a home and away knock-out matches between one of the 10 group winners before getting the ticket to Brazil. So the strategy must look ahead covering the full picture.
