Mali, Zambia, Burkina and now Lesotho coach have all come out to confirm Ghana's quality. What Ghana lacks is not quality players but how to mobilize them effectively and consistently. We are always complaining about left-back and strikers since Milo's time. We have left backs...just teach them what to do. Does Barcelona have strikers in the traditional sense, NO!!! do research and you will find out that they don't...they have a style that works for them MOST of the time. Ghana wake up and CREATE your style of play according to the attributes of your talented players. Design a manual and STICK with it. Play better teams for friendlies and stop lowering your standards. Its okay to be beaten so that you can get better.....but don't play just to participate to waste tax-payers money. Play Brazil, Germany, Italy, England, Spain, Uruguay, Argentina to win......expose yourself by exposing them....they are the ones to beat in the world cup, SHOULD YOU QUALIFY!!!

Except that confidence building is also important in building a team. We need to balance playing strong teams mentioned with weaker ones to gain some confidence. Psychologically it is good for the team as well as the players to win with weaker teams. The winning mentality has always been a good thing. Bravo

My fear is that because these days the weaker teams can perform equally well with the right coaching and FA Organization, the only metric that sets apart the stronger teams from the weaker ones is REPUTATION and CONSISTENCY. For example Brazil has a reputation as a great football nation in South America and the world. Ghana used to have a great reputation in Africa and we lost it for awhile until we qualified for the 2006/2010 WC. The PROBLEM IS WE ARE STRUGGLING TO MAINTAIN THAT REPUTATION in Africa due to poor management. Why do we perform so well at the WC even though we have been there only TWICE, and perform poorly at AFCON for 30 years. It is because of our MENTALITY: we raise our standards when we play against European teams and tournaments and we look down on African tournaments. Most of our players prefer to play in the WC than in AFCON. If that is the case then make them play WC type of teams and experience the game at the 'top flight'. Most of the players play in Europe anyways. This strategy will further expose our brand of coaching set against first tier coaching abroad. At this point GHANA should think big.....succeed.....fail.....succeed...till...others begin to follow suite!!! This is how progress is engineered.

I really like your approach towards the long term evolution of Ghana soccer. You mentioned Barcelona in one of your posts and by extension Spain, in reference to the fact that they do not have a traditional center forward. Spain were the perennial underachievers, but look at how bountiful their harvest is, after insisting on sowing homegrown seeds. As you mentioned, Ghana's style of play suits our physique and psychological makeup a lot better. Possession soccer is our style and we must perfect it, instead of trying to lift a page off any successful team's manual.
I am afraid success comes at the cost of "meaningful" failure, and that is what the average Ghanaian fan refuses to accept or is simply naiive about.

To be forewarned is to be forarmed. The trojan horse speaks to us not to believe any gifts from your enemies. Y would a coach who has the job of psyching his players to believe in themselves that they can play and beat any good team say things that are contrary to the tenor of his job? The only reason is this is a way to get Ghana to come to the match thinking it will be a walk in the park , hence be relax and not take it serious. NO mercy on Lesotho if we can score even 10 goals lets bang in the goals cuz it will only build our confidence for the next stage.
