You talk about his love to sing and dance, you do not see the good things he does etc. He is a top performer and that is why he is paid so much money and there are many top performers in that league because they have the money to buy good players. At the recent Sudan qualifier I felt that his role as a secondary striker suited him better.

Asamoah himsellf knows he cannot play in Europe anymore. That is why he is ending his career at Al Ain and making tons of money at the same time. Only a fool would forgo the opportunity of making all the money he can while retiring.

The only thing that is surprising to me is why he is still on the Black Stars. Drogba is streets ahead of him as a striker. Yet he was dropped from the Elephants.

As Arhinful puts it in an earlier article: “Look at Didier Drogba, he went to China for the money and we all saw his performance at the Africa Cup of Nations....Even in their last qualifier, he was dropped and he has now moved to Galatasaray and we can see he is playing well again.”

Drogba could come back for a while. But Asamoah can't. Asamoah started sliding in the latter stages of his gig at Sunderland while Drogba was winning Europe with Chelsea before leaving for China.

If Ghana keeps selecting players in the twilight of their careers, we would keep missing out of winning trophies.

that notwithstanding, the seemed not to have found a sound replacement yet for asamoah djan. djan himself was not too keen to play for the blackstars until this captain thing when some were buldozing their to claim it by force. djan was convinced to come in to safe ghana soccer from undergoing another decade of dictatorship. with sule not proving to be a consisitent performer for the blackstars, and essien not giving us cause to believe that he will play for the blackstars, the coach for now will not drop djan. however arhinful should agree that he never played the level of football asamoah played for ghana. we dont remember arhinful exploits with the blackstars. we only remember him staring for the under 20. even then he must necessarily performed because of the midfielders of gago, dan addo, duah, odartey. i was so disappointed with his performance at the 1996 olympic games. arhinful could not head the strike. i think in a match against either south korea or paraguay arhinful was clearly put through in a counter attack, but after some paces he stoped the ball and gave a pass because he was being persued.
