This is one of the main reasons why we cannot or have not won a cup for a very long time...In Ghanaian parlance, its called, 'too known'...we, or most of Ghanaians believe that we should beat any team, forgetting that the the game has improved tremendously in Africa...countries considered minnows are no longer walk-overs...burkina faso, niger, rwanda, liberia, gambia, uganda, kenya and others cannot be brushed aside like before...usually, we would say, " oh, ofun fua, yebeshe whon" or "they are dead bodies, we will beat them"...that was in the 60s, 70s and 80s when Ghana used to white-wash these teams...no more...and not in the 90s and 00s...and so for the minister to come out to say "Black Stars are going to Brazil" its as if we have been invited to go and play a friendly match with Brazil...i read the story before i realized that he was talking about the world cup...we have become so over-confident that even a draw does not satisfy us, let alone lose a match...to say it is one thing but to do it is another, mr minister so don't blow your horn until the work is done.
