I'm happy about this program session coupled with the national interest in seeing to it that the Black Stars shine. Unfortunately, we're putting all our eggs in one basket. Sports in Ghana os growing from bad to worse except for issues relating to the Black Stars. Where does Ghana stand in the field of athletics? Even for financially easier/cheaper sports such as volleyball, boating, javelin, discus, shot putt, weightlifting, trampoline, among others, we're far behind. What's wrong with the mind of sports authorities?

They have the wrong people running the show. Notable sports icons are never giving the nod to be part of this game. Where is the inter-schools competitions in the country. There is no inter-regionals or national championships games. They don,t miss European club soccer games. They glue to the TV set like vultures waiting for the car to pass so that they can jump on the cadaver (dead meat on the road).
Any country in this modern times breeds weak men and women without strong sporting activities. It also cause slow thinking or weaker minds amongst the youth. There is enough to organize these programs for the men and women who want to show case their individual talents.
Stealing in Ghana is from the top to the bottom. Your own mother will steal from you. Send money to your mother to do some better for the family she will give it to your brothers and sisters and say they were hungry and that is why she gave the money to them.

Fears are growing for the safety of Ghana players when they travel for the second-leg of the 2014 World Cup playoff clash against Egypt as least 50 people were killed and scores hurt in clashes between police and supporters of the deposed Islamist President Mohammed Morsi in Cairo on Sunday.
FIFA, football’s world governing body, is under pressure from neutrals to relocate the match to a safer venue as the north African country – mired in turmoil and violence – was approved to host the match.
FIFA approved Cairo as the venue of the second-leg match between the Black Stars and Pharaohs even though the country is unstable following the military coup that has seen the deaths of thousands.
The country’s stadia were closed to competitive matches because of fears of violence but has been allowed to host the match even though prior to the approval of Cairo the capital had not hosted matches for TWO YEARS.
With many more people killed on Sunday, the safety of Ghana’s key players is at stake as violence and protest could erupt during the anticipated highly-charged match which could lead to violence.
Egypt will travel to Ghana this week for the first leg of the deciding qualifier for the 2014 World Cup but with the second leg scheduled for November, FIFA would have to re-examine its judgement.
More than 200 members of the Muslim Brotherhood were arrested in Cairo, where most of the deaths were reported.
Supporters of Mr Morsi marched in several cities, as the military-backed government marked the 40th anniversary of the 1973 Arab-Israeli war.
Morsi supporters say he was deposed in a military coup in July.

A FRIENDLY AND NEUTRAL VENUE NEEDED
I suggested in one of my many posts about this match, that the Black Stars at least play a friendly match with either Kotoko or Hearts of Oak. I think any first division team will do at this late stage.
However, I am disappointed with Coach Kwesi Appiah programing the Stars to play lower division side Deportivo at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Secondly, it will be suicidal for the Stars to play in Egypt despite the recent violence there. They should press FIFA to elect a neutral venue.
Regards.

I am at a total loss as to why the GFA have not lodged a powerful protest to have the return leg rescheduled to a neutral venue. This is not a joking matter, this is a matter of the safety of our players and any supporters that may accompany them for the return leg. I personally doubt very much that the match will go on without serious incidents either during or after the game. There are bound to be clashes between the warring sides in the dispute and it is safest and more reasonable for CAF/FIFA to move the game to a safer venue. There are more than enough grounds for the GFA to lodge a protest and consider boycotting the game until unconditional assurances are given that our delegation will be safe in Cairo. Honestly, I dont think Egypt are in any position to give such assurances. In such a situation, there is only one thing left for the governing bodies to move the game to a neutral and safer venue. Period

Why is it GFA is going to play in a country with violence without considering the safety of his people(players)GFA should protest for neutral ground.
