For Christ sake, we are going in a return league with a 6:1 advantage.If FIFA never heeded to our countless pleas to move the match to a different destination,let's regroup as men and do what is expected of us. After all, this is African buga-buga football, and, wherever it is played—whether in Cairo, Kano, Ouagadougou, Niamey, Addis Ababa, Porto-Novo, Banjul, Maputo, Kumasi, Lusaka, etc., shit would happen and there would be anxiety in all quarters, simply because it is African” buga-buga” football. It is difficult to understand why we want to frighten ourselves as if there is something to benefit from it. Let us be real. There is no contentious issue between Ghana and Egypt. We know it and the Egyptians know it. What is happening in Egypt is a political conflict between the Military Regime of Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood party whose leader had been overthrown. It has nothing to do with Ghana or football.
The Muslim Brotherhood is an established political party in Egypt and they are not armed rebels so imagining that what happened in Kabinda in Angola could happen in Cairo to the Black Stars is not right.
Both the Military Government and the Muslim Brotherhood has nothing to gain if any Black Stars player, official or supporter suffer criminal injury.
Importantly, we are not the first country going to play football in Egypt since their political crisis erupted when the military of Egypt overthrew their elected president. Before the November 19 date with Ghana, other African countries had been in Egypt to play world cup qualifiers without any fuss. Also both Zamelek and Al Ahly had played their home matches in Cairo without any incident. In fact Orlando Pirates are preparing to play the 2nd leg of the Africa Champions league final in Cairo.
We have our own Embassy staff in Cairo and we have no reason to evacuate them. In fact there are many Ghanaians in Cairo who have seen no threat to their being there.
Egyptians love football, they love their teams just like we do. For instance if a Ghanaian club is playing against say Ahly in Cairo, Zamelek supporters openly join the Ghanaian club's supporters. We also do that in Ghana.
This fear and panic we are bringing upon ourselves has no basis at all. In fact this is good for the Egyptians. How they pray that this unreasonable fear and panic in Ghana should increase to negatively affect the Black Stars so that they can score and score more goals against us.
If we don't stop this childish behaviour, we will live to regret. We should stop this political gimmicks and focus on football.

If Egypt wins it will help in bringing their people together and FIFA will gladly take credit for that but if they should loose the mayhem will continue and I believe that is when the lives of our players and supporters would be in danger. FIFA is using us as sacrificial lambs. If the Black Stars were a European team, there is no way FIFA would allow the game to be played anywhere in or even near Egypt. THE FACT IS THAT THE LIVE OF A BLACK AFRICAN IS STILL CHEAP TO THESE EUROPEANS. It is shocking some us are playing down the dangerous situation in Egypt. We all know that terrorists attack the security services in public, and if innocent by-standers get caught up in the chaos, who cares? So the Egyptians who may have nothing against the Ghanaians may decide to attack their own security personnel who may be shepherding the Ghanaina supportes, but bombs and guns do not discriminate. What happened to Prof Awornoo just a couple of weeks ago? Was he a target before he was gunned down?
The situation is especially precarious because of the results of the first leg. Unless something drastic goes wrong, there is no way the Egyptians are going to beat Ghana by the same score and thus lead the game into extra time and possible penalty shoot-out; or do better by beating Ghana by five goals to nil and thus qualify automatically. The Egytians' only route to fame so far as the tie is concerned would be to attract international attention off the field. And that is where our team and staff, as well as supporters and other government representatives to the match are direct targets. The Egytian security have not been able to protect their own citizens, so what guarantee would be enough to protect the delegation from Ghana in case of any eventuality?
Ghana must think twice. Let the government invite Blatter and co to the match to show their solidarity with football enthusiasts!
