He has at least a year or two of active soccer in him. I don't know what is preventing him from going to Arsenal to fortify the central midfield along with Arteta to allow Wilshire, Ramsay, Ozil and the others to be able to move forward.

he is got a lot to offer,maybe not wiv chelsea because of how jose wanted them to play,which is wot they demonstrated against liverpoool yesterday.
essien would need a lot of games to get to that level and i dnt think jose is got the time or going to give him that time to get to his best.
make no mistake that doesnt mean tiger is finished,the legend of our time,the best midfielder ever lived is still got a long way to go.
i've watched every match essien is played in since he came to chelsea,after lyon rejected 4m pounds from liverpool two years earlier.
i wasnt happy when he was dropped but i can understand those injuries have taken it toil on him,he needed time and alot of games to get over that fully.
even jose is not happy playin mikel instead of michael cos of the defence splitting passes and the runs he can make,that obi cant.
only problem is chelsea is playing or trying to play sum seriously fast football at the moment,it'll be very difficult for him,.
having said that fast football is not everything always and thats why essien is still the best in the world.
a few more high profile games,whether for chelsea or who ever he signs for and he'll be back in the summer dominating blackstars midfield against the so called best midfielders in the world,simply because theres no other midfielder,stronger and clever as he is!!
