These are the calibre of players Ghana in taunting to take Black Stars to semi finals of Brazil 2014 world cup. Its a shame Akwesi Appiah cannot just identify dead horses like Kevin Prince Boateng, Micheal Essien & co. The world is waiting to see how Black Stars can transit from the stale and dead quarter finals exploit in South Africa to wriggle into second round in Brazil, not to even talk of semi finals.
When you have a country whose trademark is built on boasting about what others have done and don't even count seriously, you then can measure the level of medoicrity the country Ghana exhibit. Ghana got to quarter finals in South Africa and they seem never be able to put that performance behind as if its a transient event that can automatically elevate Black Stars to semi finals in Brazil. Other African countries like Cameroon and Senegal were there too in style but have never made noise of the level Ghana is subjecting anyone who cares to listen to. If world cup past performances were transient, countries like Bulgaria, Croatia, South Korea etc who were once semi finalists would have enjoyed special mentions in FIFA book of records and so recognised in subsequent world cups; unfortunately that is not the standard measure of the game FIFA superitend worlwide.
Currently FIFA rather see Nigeria as the biggest African football brand coming from the zone Africa because they are the reigning African champions and deservedly so. FIFA recognises ability to win continental tournaments as a mark of achivement and ratings and not monthly FIFA ranking Ghana makes so much noise about. Ghana continues to garnish a stale quarter final exploit and sort to impose upon itself the best football performace or most glorious achievement to have ever emerged from Africa, how arrogant and errorneous this can be. Ghana realistically does not belong where they choose to place themselves and so should stop the talk shops and get serious.

Our country is heading to the wrong direction today, and I'm not just talking about football, but economically because we have formed the habit of supporting things that are wrong.
