The main rival was Astons and they battled each other for supremacy at Manhyia park, sometimes in the presence of the late Asantehene, Otumfuo Sir Osei Agyeman Prempeh 11. What I recall is that Grusah was always in a fight with the referees and the linesmen when his team was losing.He never accepted defeat and was always blaming somebody else. He knows football, granted but sometimes you lose because the other team is better or your team lacks motivation. Cornerstones or Corners as we used to call them was their own worst enemy. They ganged up against Kotoko every time and openly supported Hearts when Kotoko played against the latter. They failed to broaden their supporters to include others who were not Fantes. Corners became a Fante team in Kumasi so when they faced difficulties as all teams do, there was no help from the overwhelming Ashantis who could have helped Corners.Football is money, if there is nobody with deep pockets to help the team, the team goes down. At one point Corners came to Kotoko on bended knees to ask for money to help the team pay its players but the leaders of Kotoko remembered all the taunting from Corners when they lost to Hearts especially in Kumasi, told Corners to go to Hearts and refused to help them. I don't know where in the league Corners is now but definitely not in the Premier league.
  Grusah should therefore be diplomatic and not say nasty things about Kotoko especially when your team is based in Kumasi, one day you may need assistance, and as the British proverb says, " you can live without friends but not your neighbors" and as Ghanaians like to say " A word to the wise is enough"
