Everyone who is alive knew that Ignatius Kutu Acheampong promised the 1978 winning squad a house but he was overthrown in July of 1978 and Hilla Limann had a meeting with these same players and compromising was reached they did not reject that deal so please stop these nonsense.

However, Ghana got to the quarter finals. Just check the appearance fees given to the France players, other incentives and compare that to what Ghanaian players got. Meanwhile, both countries got the same amount from FIFA at that stage and Ghana went 3 steps further to make more money.

The contested of Stephen Appiah's request asking them to demand more money is that old players are suffering and the country is not doing anything for them. I have been on record many times about these old players. The truth is that some are just making up stories the claim Kwame Nkrumah promised the 1963 and 65 squad a house is not truth no one had shown us newspapers or press release and Kwame Nkrumah would have fulfilled that promise b/4 Feb 24 1966.

The current players has no excuse if we had under 17 and 20 world cup players like Kwesi Owusa, Dan Owusa and co would have the opportunity to play in Europe. 99% of the current Black Star players got to where they are because Ghana show case them in the Under 17 and 20 world cup if this is not good enough what do they want.

I think it is more than common sense to cut our coat according to our size and not copy others blindly.

Thae nation is going through some very challenging times right now, so I think it is prudent that everyone, including our highly paid soccer stars are circumspect in their demands.

Imagine the injury caused to Essien during stars camp which almost cost his game time for good, how much was Ghana's contribution toward his treatment, nothing. Dede Ayew got injured playing in Ghana shirt against Egypt and was sidelined for over a month, how much was Ghana's contribution towards his surgery and recovery, nothing. It goes on and on and we'll feature players whose injury during our matches aren't our concern but their clubs, what sense does it make to have the players come back to feature at any time? Check today's sports headlines and read what a so called reporter wrote about Dede, the headline of that article was absolute rubbish. It goes to show the kind of treatment some Ghanaians will give to some of these players in future. Folks, if they demand such money we shouldn't see them as ungrateful citizens rather, we should analyze things carefully and see how best to meet their needs. Why should I play for a nation to earn millions and I'll be given a peanut? In this era, it doesn't add up.

All workers in Ghana serve the country and its nobody's business to take direct care of a person after retirement even after 60 years. No footballer retires after 60 so they have more strength to diversify their resources properly. Learn from the mistakes of the past footballers rather than use their plight as bad examples. No teacher nor doctor send their children to school or hospital free after retirement so retired footballers not going to stadium free is no big deal.

You do not expect the government to care for retired footballers. You people make more money than even the president. If you people don't know how to manage or invest the hundreds of thousands of dollars you make, maybe it will be best to ask GFA to set up a retirement fund where you can contribute into it towards your retirement. You do not expect the start to pay you for the rest of your life.

It is not secret that you people engage in ostentatious life style during you playing days. Sometime ago it was reported that one player's wrist watch has been stolen. It turns out the watch cost more than fifteen thousand dollars.

Besides, these players can charge one million dollar appearance fees.. It will still not save them from going broke, if they don't know how to manage their money.. If anybody owe them anything, it will be the clubs these players played for, as they gave the clubs more playing time than Ghana... I wonder why Appiah will not make similar demands on the clubs... Sometimes it feels like BS is holding Ghana hostage... How can you demand so much money but don't win any trophies.. Remember that those who won trophies for Ghana, did it for the love of country, NOT money..
