If we stop bashing Kwarasey that he doesn't have confidence and encourage him to be our best keeper you will get the best out of him. Trust him with the No 1 spot and see if he will not perform? We all do make mistakes . You did this to Akaminko and you are still continuing. It is our comments & actions of our coaches that have "boosted" his confidence. If I were Kwarasey I will just quit the BS.

Folks, this is what I guess is Kwarasey's problem which unfortunately has been taken as lack of confidence. Check all our defenders and you'll realize the twi language is so glued to their lips and ears that it's almost impossible for any of them to speak or understand english. Meanwhile, good and confident goalkeeping starts from coordination between defenders and the keeper. The keeper should be able to direct affairs to help defenders identify what they're missing from time to time and also from blocking his view. Unfortunately, this has not been effective between Kwarasey and the B/Stars defenders. All our defenders are typical twi speaking players and I guess Kwarasey speaks English and Norwegian with the later dominating in his daily conversation. Therefore, in a scenario where for example, Daniel Opare has overlapped and forgotten to come back to his rightful position and Kwarasey wants to draw his attention. All we'll hear on the field is "Opare komme tilbake" which means "Opare come back". This will only sound like a fun scream to Opare and he'll be like "what the f*ck is Kwarasey saying?" Lol

Daniel Tawiah Opare was born 18 October 1990 in Accra and schooled in Accra and speaks English as good as Vorsah, John Boye, Akaminko and other defenders.

Now comes in Dr. James Kwasi Appiah.
He, along with Professor Mintah, must bring them together, training after training, to insist that they only speak English, but be discreet, doing it in close quarters, as we might be giving away strategy to the enemy (USA, England, Australia, in fact, everyone).

And Rasey himself should try to bring along the consistency, leadership, self-assurance, proactiveness and dynamism that are the hallmarks of his performance in the Norwegian league.

How can someone who takes charge of his club so confidently appear so psychologically inadequate in our post?

The answer, I think, is in your analysis, and Appiah and Mintah have some serious work to do.

He's the best we have currently and it's an undisputable fact so if he'll sit on bench for Dauda to take over for his lack of confidence sake then he better stay home. If he's not confident as a first choice, the same confidence issue will meet him as a second or a third choice. To me Joe Addo didn't say anything wrong. However, I'm waiting to see how this Dauda/Kwarasey who is who thing will play in Brazil. It's actually in the hands of Appiah and his staff. I don't think our goalkeeper's trainer is taking bribes either. He just has a way of making choices pertaining to his job, unfortunately some of us don't see from that angle so all we can do is to criticize but I'm charging our technical crew to stand firm as the late Peter Tosh sang once upon a time "live clean, let your works be seen, stand firm or you gonna feed worm."

It was we the same fans that started complaining about Kwarasey's lack of confidence in Ghana post before Appiah and his technical team came on board. They brought in Dauda and it was like all is set until he "Dauda" also loss his confidence due to his lack of play time at club level. Fans later started questioning his "Dauda" first team position and it was then that the goalkeeper's trainer came to his defense with that Kwarasey isn't confidence even just by way of his antics etc. So Joe Addo's comment is actually based on what has been transpiring on our local airwaves for sometime now. To me what he said was deep truth for Appiah and his team members to reason through. If Kwarasey can't be number one because he lacks confidence then it's very silly to make him a number 2 or 3. I totally agree with Joe Addo.

Do you all realize that Kwarasey never lost a competitive match until CAN 2012 to Zambia? A match we could have won if only Asamoah Gyan had converted the penalty and also scored an easy tap in for a goal. Don't also forget that in the same match, it was Inkoom who carelessly and weakly gave the ball to the Zambian player at the edge of the box.That was the first match he lost as a goalkeeper after taking over from Olele. In fact apart from Brazil he had not lost a single match to the point of the Zambian match. The other Coach had the good sense and expertise to understand him and use him. What has Akwasi Appiah done to him? After one match in which John Boye stupidly deflected into his own goal, Akwasi Appiah bench Kwarasey and bring on Fatau Dauda because he is "locally bred", MADE IN GHANA!!! The same tactic that almost caused Ghana to lose KPB permanently.

When are Ghanaians, Coach Akwasi Appiah and the likes of Joe Addo going to realize the gem we have in Kwarasey and encourage him, suport him to be his best and bring glory to Ghana, a country he freely chose out of many options because of love for the country?

If you take him along to Brazil and let's say he's the second choice and your first choice gets injured, is it not the same lack of confidence keeper you're bringing on board to replace the injured? Our goalkeeper's trainer has to revisit that statement he made and correct himself for the good of the game. Dauda is not bad but Kwarasey is good enough to take the leading role in our goal post.

How do we know that a person has build up his or her confidence? By doing some that he loves over and over again till he has succeeded in achieving the highest standard and is proven by the records. Confidence is to have a belief in oneself. You can have a belief that you are capable of do something but that does not mean that you have the capacity to deliver.In the case of the two goalkeepers do we judge by their performance or the ability to believe in oneself? Its all boils down to the issue of the egg and chicken: which comes first? One believe he has all that it takes to protect the post but has not been able to prove himself in the chances gievn to him by his team; other has shown that he wants to prove himself by going all the way to elevate his standards with remarkable success. Both keepers are in the same profession and would love to be chosen as the number one stopper. The tough question is how do we measure confidence? Do not fool yourself: one can loose his or her confidence when confronted with dangerous players? Do we call African strikers dangerous players and intimidate others? No but because we have very poor officiating things are quite different in Africa as compared with the rest of the world. Even consider the European leagues and that of the EUFA champion league: if you can't tell the diffence then I am sorry you don't understand the game. Manchester United number one keeper has been beaten heavily this season but does it mean others are better than him? Joe Addo please grow up. I rest my case.

It makes a lot of sense, if he is not confident enough then why invite him. First of all, he is the most active of all the choices available. If the coaches fail to base their decision on "who should be number" on merit it will show. The world cup will be unforgiving!

My number one choice is Dauda, but, I have all the confidence in you as I have in Dauda. The only thing is we cannot field two goalkeepers at the same time, hence my reason to stick to the choice of the one we chose to handle the national team. I know and believe that you are a very very good short stopper.

joe is not saying that but the coach and his technical team.. so basically joe is saying that if you think he lacks confidence , why take him to the world cup .. its makes sense to me.
