Asamoah's decision was based upon Sunderland's unfortunate decisions to keep him on the bench - usually calling him as a reserved player. This dwindled his interest in showcasing his abilities and performances as he now comes to appreciate, otherwise, from his present team.

Kwesi, get off from that mindset and direct your focus on the player's chances of growth capabilities. I am of the opinion that Gyan has made an excellent decision.

He is already a legendary figure in Al Ain and he is well paid as well so what again? Gyan must therefore focus on his career at UAE as well as his captaincy of the Black Stars.
Gyan has nothing to prove in Europe. In fact he had been in Europe before and so he knows what he is saying when he says he will not return to Europe.
