Jozy Altidore was a bench-warmer all year at Sunderland and has lost all his sharpness at goal. Clint Dempsey was also a bench warmer in the EPL until he returned to the US to join the Seattle Sounders.He has lost all his magic. Klinsmann will resort to brutal take-no-prisoners, whirl-wind, grinding and trickery soccer.

Empty vessels make the loudest noise. Instead of camping and preparing hard for the games ahead, we seem to be taking pride in telling the general public about how we will go to the semis and even win the cup. Not even Germany or Portugal, or even Brazil, whom are all more than 10 times better than we are, are bragging of such. It is going to be a tough match between Ghana and the United States. The Americans are busy doing their home work by studying videos, sending scouts and aggressive boot camp with strict discipline.
What is going to happen they will score two quick goals in the first ten minute. They see this match as war. I am just worried about the Ghana defence. They build their attack or movement very slowly and the US will try to stop them right from the onset. That is their game plan.

The solution here is to have discipline defence and have five men midfield strategy and allow Warts or Ryan to be a lone man upfront. This is to deceive the US that Ryan is the sole goal poached while other players could do damage against the US.

They can score from all kinds of scenarios and permutations. They attack with 10 and defend with 10. You don't see anybody with his hands in his pocket, ball watching or ignoring his responsibilities for a moment because they know when they have a chance to attack they will score. That is an high quality team.
A squad of quality players is all well and good but I must warn, teams play matches and not squads.

The U.S. national team's all-time leading scorer will not be going to his fourth finals after coach Jurgen Klinsmann omitted him from his plans

USA's all-time leading goalscorer Landon Donovan has been left out of Jurgen Klinsmann's final 23-man World Cup squad.

The 32-year-old attacker, who has scored five goals over three World Cups, appeared in just three of 10 matches in the final round of qualifying last year after taking a nearly four-month sabbatical from the sport.

Although he appeared to win back Klinsmann's trust last summer with a standout Gold Cup, for which he was named the tournament's most outstanding player, Donovan was relegated to the bench for a friendly against Mexico last month and his coach made it clear his place in the squad was not guaranteed.

However, the decision to leave him out of the party for Brazil comes as a huge shock, with Clarence Goodson, Michael Parkhurst, Brad Evans, Maurice Edu, Joe Corona and Terrence Boyd also trimmed from the 30-man roster released last week.

Among the more notable inclusions are defenders John Brooks, Timothy Chandler and DeAndre Yedlin, midfielder Julian Green, and forward Chris Wondolowski — all of whom combined to make one appearance in World Cup qualifying.
