I am not a centurion,but I can recall my parents constantly hammering home the adage that: A good name is better than riches. I vividly recall my uncle, a top official in the colonial administration,[and my dad`s older brother who raised me][turning away hordes of Chiefs and other prominent members of society,who came to see him at the official residence, bearing all manner of gifts to thank him for a good job done. Remember that this was expo facto;that is after he had done the deed; what he felt was the right thing to do!
True,greed and self-aggrandissment have gotten the part of many these days,but there are still some of us who`ll continue to frown on some of the unspeakable conduct/actions of many of our public officials, who are entrusted with the task of making decision on behalf of the country.
Not unlike infidelity, which is rampant in today`s society,corruption has never been,and can never be part of our culture in this country!
