Ghanaians just don't like change. How can you expect the new formation to just produce the cup winner on the first time of trying. The real problem is that Ghana's midfield collapse because the Badu and Rabiu combination failed as Badu lost stamina in the second half. Leading to the exposure of the defence. The Senegalese had a free pass through the midfield to supply balls to their attackers. In our second game we have to have players who have the stamina for 90 minutes. They can't possibly get tired too early in the second half.

Take a look at Louis van Gaal of Man U he is being trying so many formations but he is smart enough to change the formation to get the result he wanted. That is what great coaches do. You would not be saying the same thing you are saying if Akwesi Appiah had done that. GFA trying to hide from their foolishness has over-hyper Avram Grant no wonder Mohammed Gargo is calling him top Coach. Black Stars problems is not about coaching it about management and the way GFA is always directing affairs from behind. They did give Grant free hand to select the players he wanted they just want him to do well.

Its just like Akwesi Appiah said after the USA game that he was resting his players bring them on when USA are tried. Our loss to Senegal was caused principally by the limited capacity of our players. The players lacked the vim to compete. They were weak, slow and tired in the second half. Senegal won the match because of their superior physical fitness. No formation could make the BS do better than they did yesterday.
Unless the Stars improve their physical fitness level, it will be difficult for them get even one point from all their three group matches.

Furthermore, the local league is in such a mess that it is not producing quality players in the caliber of Osei Kofi, Baba Yara, George Alhassan, Edward Acquah, etc.

While we were living in fools’ paradise and thinking we are all that, other African nations were fast developing in the sport-- both locally and internationally.

The issue is that some experienced players in midfield have been left out due to foolish GFA leadership; unfortunately Kwadwo Asamoah too is injured and the best solution was to fill the midfield with people who could not apply what was thought, Do you see how Chesea changed from playing English type football to pro-European type? The players are matured enough not like e Ghana players most of whom cannot even read blackboard work. Bring back the so-called bad boys and all will change. Let’s learn to respect opinion of even our enemies; the trouble is GFA and Ghanaians preventing Grant from using the players he thinks are capable.

It is the modern formation fancied by many teams now. Nothing wrong with playing that formation. Question is that formation can leave the back three confused sometimes if they are not very well drilled in it. It worked in the first half to an extent but then when Senegal switched to a 4-4-2 in the second have, it gave them an urge and Grant should have gone to a 4-5-1 to conter them and protect our lead. Van Gaal used the same formation on Saturday against QPR, but when it did not bring him any goals in the first half, he changed it to a 4-4-2 diamond. Result? Man Uted won it 2-0. Grant should have changed the formation when it became clear after the first 5-8 minutest of second half when Senegal with their changed formation begun to dominate the game and had created two quick chances. Smart coaches react swiftly to opposition changes of formation.

The problem is that we hype up players too quickly. Atsu, Adiyah, Clottey, Yahaya, Jordan and many more. We need to take our time before hyping players.
