I will not rally a support for a team that did not prepare well for a tournament. Until we realize as a nation that success and failures are results we will always keep depending on natural talents to bail us out and settle for mediocre while the truth is we can get the best with a little more preparation and organization. How many friendly games did Ghana play before this tournament? Where did they go to acclimatize? Supporting BS success is like supporting the philosophy that you don't need to prepare or work hard at goals. Just get up and do whatever and you can succeed and you know thats not true. So please those who do not support the team now its not because they are unpatriotic. No! They just want things to be done right. Like Germany, Netherlands, France. They worked hard and stick to their philosophies that earned them EXPECTED RESULTS!

Your analysis of the problem is well taken. But the broader question is: Will our denial of support for the boys solve the problem that you have clearly articulated? In a sense, are the players themselves not victims of the incompetence that you have described? And, in fact, the whole nation suffers the blunt of mismanagement of the national team. We should be able to separate the issues of leadership incompetence and support for a national team. The analogy that you provided does NOT seem to parallel the issue at stake. On hand, it is a student who by himself or herself is negligent and lazy about studies and preparation for exam. On the other hand, it involves players who are willing and the majority of them are working so hard to represent their nation well in spite of mismanagement tendencies. They are not lazy as the student you referred to (even that student, needs help to do better). The bottom line is that, we need to support our own compatriots who are representing us in a foreign land. And when this particular event is over and has been brought to its logical conclusion; then we can also rally our forces to bear on the incompetence of handling the affairs of the Black Stars. FOR NOW LET US RALLY OUR SUPPORT FOR THE NATIONAL TEAM. IT IS JUST THE RIGHT THING TO DO.

You are right, but Ghana has had natural strkers like him, I can remember strikers like Opoku Afriyie, George Alhasan, Willie Klutse, Emmanuel Kwashie. Tony Yeboah etc. All of them were in their own classes.
