Due to international sanctions resulting from the Yugoslav wars, UEFA announced on 31 May 1992 – only 10 days before the competition commenced – that Yugoslavia were to be excluded from the competition and their place given to Denmark, who entered as the second-placed team in its qualifying group and with the 2–0 win against reigning 1990 FIFA World Cup champions Germany in the final, Denmark had won its first international trophy.Sorry,Guuinea not this time
