We thought Essien, Muntari and KPB were still important but in reality, we should have gone into WC 2014 with a young upstart team. Lesson learned.

The team does not belong to any body. Players are there to be given positions that makes them effective in team work. If a coach cannot do that to get the best out of the players such a coach is not worth handling the team. That is what Grant has been able to do. The players are now combining well and supporting each other. Effective coaching has a lot to do with helping players build confidence, protecting players from the press, motivating them when things look bad and a whole lot of qualities that some coaches do not have.

I think your point is that the core of this team was built by Kwesi Appiah. Unfortunately, the push and pressure to include Essien, Muntari and KPB actually threw off the development of this team. At the end of the day, Wakaso and Afriyie were held back by the old guard. Appiah was right in selecting those two but he needed to be bold and leave off Essien, Muntari and KPB. This is also a lesson for all the fans. Names do not play football. It is about players who are hungry. We also have to give Grant credit for the unknown Kwesi Appiah. We do not want to lose. The reality is that we have to accept that this was a development project that involved a number of coaches and players. Whatever happens on Sunday, it looks like we have found a new core for the next two years but we have to prepared to accept changes when 2017 comes around.

Now we have a tactically astute coach, the preparation was okay as the new coach only had limited time with his players before the tournament commenced. He has therefore used this limited time to great effect and well done to him. If Avram Grant can keep out the unwanted interruption from the GFA as it happened during Kwasi Appiah's regime, he will achieve big things with his team. The GFA idiots are Grant's worst nightmare, if he succeeds in keeping them abay and does his own thing, Ghana will go places, starting from Sunday.

AA qualified us for world cup and took us to 4th place in Afcon same as his predecessor. AA's problem is that he is a quiet guy who likes to DO, rather than TALK. Other coaches talk a lot, AA wants to do his talking on the pitch. Unfortunately we did not allow him enough time.
Avram Grant is making the same mistake AA made by forcing to play Jordan Ayew when everyone can see he needs more development.
The only change Grant has made to AA's team is to bring in Kwesi Appiah who has been an excellent find, and drop the KPBs, Muntaris and Essiens.
All the other players are from AA's era!

The question now is what CAF is going to do with this chaos, which could have turned into an utter disaster. CAF must demonstrate that it is not a good for nothing organization, and that it stands for the best in African football. The host fans almost destroyed the game for imagining that their second rate team could have beaten the Black Stars and match to the final; notwithstanding the fact that Algeria was robbed by some incompetent and perhaps corrupt referee. CAF must show that it will not tolerate that indiscipline and violent play in future competitions. The association of the host country must be punished for its lack of crowd control and indeed security at the stadium. A fine will not do, it must be banned for a few months. And for goodness sake, whatever action it will like to take against the host association, this should come after the competition. To do so before the competition is over will only court disaster, which the fans have demonstrated shamefully to the whole world that they are capable of inflicting. CAF, please demonstrate that you can take corrective action when it is necessary, in the good name of African football. Common sense must prevail!

It takes only one-eyed man to lead the blind. The conditions they took the players through in term of hotel, food and transportation was terrible. They are robbing Ghana ( the State) in the name of the game( football). Budget millions of dollars and spend only pesewas and keep the rest meanwhile they are not players. The seniors stood for Ghana (precisely the tax payers) and the junior players to fight the canker (corruption) eating into the Ghanaian society at unprecedented rate.
