  Akyem-Maase is different from Kumasi. Akyem-Maase is a town located in the East Akim Municipal District of the Eastern Region of Ghana whilst Kumasi is the Ashanti Regional capital.
  
  People from Akyem-Maase are Akyems (Akyem-Abuakwa) whilst indigines of Kumasi are Asantis.
