I don't blame gyan for choosing to abstain from the penalty shootout. However,.as captain and in a tournament final. this is a bad idea..a terrible idea! A captain must do whatever it takes to help their team achieve success at all times. By opting to wear the armband, you have signed a contract to live and die with the team as long as you are not injured. You must be willing to shoulder the blame when the going gets tough..And reap the fruits of glory when the team wins. Gyan wasn't injured, so what significant reason did he dwell on to opt out? Was he still injured from the bump he sustained in the guineans game? So why then did grant allow gyan to play 90minutes? This is not the first time this has happened, gyan has found a reason to negligently shy away from the PRESSURE!. Gyan has only managed to score 1goal each in the last 3 afcons.at this afcon, again he scored 1goal. I expect more from our top striker and captain..don't you? Ivory Coast have managed to win without drogba. I think ghana can win without gyan. I mean what is the point in having a so called captain. Who won't be there when the PRESSURE is on? PLUS, his quality has also also dipped significantly since afcon 2010, when gyan was playing in europe..
