His full name is Inaki Williams Dennis:Born in Bilbao, Biscay to a Ghanaian father and a Liberian mother, he joined Athletic Bilbao's Lezama youth system in 2012 at age 16. In the same year he made his debuts as a senior, playing for the farm team in Tercera División.

On 25 June 2013 he signed a new contract with the Basque, running until 2017, and was subsequently promoted to the reserves in Segunda División B. After suffering a knee injury in August, he returned to active in October, and appeared in 14 matches during the season, scoring eight goals.

On 6 December 2014, after profitting from Aritz Aduriz's injury, he made his first team – and La Liga – debut, starting in a 0–1 home loss against Córdoba CF. He netted his first goal on 19 February of the following year, starting and contributing to a 2–2 draw at Torino F.C. for the UEFA Europa League's round-of-32, becoming in the process the first black player to score for the club.

There's nothing wrong being part of the global village but we don't have to sacrifice our identity to do just that. Changing our natural looks like hair texture and color and tampering with our skin complexion is defeatist. We're trying harder each day to be more caucasian- like but that's a futile exercise. We will never become Caucasians. Forever we'll remain black Africans. If we're not proud of who we are who else will do for us what we refuse to do for ourselves. There are plenty out there like that but unfortunately, many of the kids born outside are in families that cannot afford to have them come back to Ghana or there are immigration issues on the Western front that limit travel opportunities. It is up to GFA to set up camps in Ghana where they can invite foreign born players to spend the summer in Ghana and mix with the local players and learn the culture.
