  in the past there was very little opportunity to compare the standard of the local league to european leagues.
  secondly top african clubs in past such as union duola, canon yauonde, enugu rangers, iicc shooting stars, hafia, etc are not thriving as hearts & kotoko have been thriving. lesser known clubs have given hearts & kotoko a good run for their money lesser known clubs are employing foreign expertise to handle them, they are importing foreign players they are using ex kotoko & hearts players, there aere a lot of ghanaian internationals who have returned to be technical men or managers, there are improvements in facilities and investors are investing. well organised academies are quickly making crude colts team defunct.
