Chairman of the Black Stars management committee George Afriyie says Coach Avram Grant would be in the U.S to visit some Ghanaian players and also monitor their performance in the ongoing MLS season.

Grant, who led Ghana to a second place finish in Equatorial Guinea arrived in the country last Friday after the international friendlies and was in Kumasi to watch Asante Kotoko buckle under pressure to lose 1-2 at the hands El Eulma.

The former Chelsea boss in his commitment to working with every Ghanaian player is rumored to have scheduled a meeting with Portland Timbers goalkeeper Adam Kwarasey who has declined invitations to play for the Black Stars since the chaotic world cup campaign in Brazil.

Grant will also cease the opportunity to watch at close hand as players like David Accam and Ishmael Yartey all get some game time with their various clubs.

“As you know Grant is in the country and was even in Kumasi to watch Kotoko take on their CAF Champions League opponents,” George Afriyie told Accra based Citi FM.

“We have tasked him to watch some games in Ghana and their continental commitment but he is billed to travel to the U.S soon to meet some players and monitor them.

“After, he will return to continue monitoring the local league.”
