  In the US, they've done a lot of studies on professional athletes and their net worth after retirement. over 70% of American Football (not soccer) players were bankrupt 2 years after retiring....and most had million dollar contracts. Look at basketball great Allen Iverson. It's estimated he made over $185 million in his career and now is broke !!
