  Is a 1-0 scoreline a ''humbling'' It is a respectable scoreline. What will you say if it was like 10-0 or even 4-0? Old Black Stars...4 times African Champions, now waste pipes to be beaten easily by just any team.

  its high time we put a stop to inviting certain players. acheampong, wakasu, badu, rabiu, gyimah are not blackstars materials; they slow down the game, are limited in abilities, are being played out of position are not in form.
  the togolese are quicker on the ball, have falir and are more flexible.

  If we could, without any guilt, find a little solace to mitigate our sadness amidst the flood and Fire deaths, it should be in the Black Stars' win over Togo, and the brilliant performance of the Cameroonian and Nigerian Women Soccer teams in the Women's World Cup Soccer Competition going on in Canada.
  
  We must take inspiration from that win to seek for more laurels. Bravo, Black Stars!
  
  Meanwhile, let's, also, howl a big 'Well Done!' to our fellow African Lady teams in the Women's World Cup Tourney. Cameroons beat Ecuador by 6-0. And Nigerians drew 3-3 with Sweden. Both games were very exciting and impressive.
  
  In fact, I was blown away by the performance of the Cameroonians. They exuded confidence and exquisite Soccer skills. Their physical strength shown was also pleasantly atypical of African Ladies. They deserved the win!
  
  The Nigerians were also very impressive, especially going down by two goals to nil in the first half, it was doubtful they could come back into the game. But the second half was a different story. They managed to equalize by the middle of the half. But then the Swedes added another goal to their tally soon after. However, that wasn't the end of if for the Naija Ladies. They wouldn't go down easily. And their efforts were rewarded by a late goal, in the 87th min, to tie the game at 3-3 by the end of the game.
  
  What gravely affected the Nigerians was the domineering height of the Swedish which was the weapon for the Swedes' two goals in the first half via Corner kicks.
  
  Well, the second goal for the Swedes didn't come directly from a header but it was the header that opened the chance for the goal as the headed ball was poorly cleared only to be shot straight back into the goal. The Swedes first Goal, too, was an 'own-goal' by a Nigerian defender who, in her desperation, had the headed ball bounce off her chest into her own goal.
  
  The Nigerian Ladies seemed to be making a repeated error in clearing out of the '18' soon after a corner-kick was cleared. Every time the Swedes earned a corner, you could see the Nigerians frantically disorganized, and again and again, would not quickly vacate the box. The Swedes saw that they had the best chances of winning through corner-kicks and were always trying to earn one. When the Nigerians later resolved to avoid conceding more corner-kicks, it dried up the Swedish efforts at Goal. However, the Swedish 3rd goal was from a tactical set-piece at which a Nigerian defender made a wrong tackle to allow the Swede attacker zip by to slam the ball in.
  
  On the whole, I think the Naija Ladies did their part to elevate the image of our African Ladies in Soccer. Their goals were the results of true execution of skillful Soccer that the Swedes had tough time containing. The Nigerians and the Cameroonians effectively mitigated the heavy loss their Ivorian Counterparts suffered at the hands of the Germans a couple of days ago, 10-0.
  
  Let us all wish these Sisters 'Best of Luck' and 'Bravo', for now!!
