At everton he see himself as the main man and he is commanding respect. Timidity of a personality can hinder talent. Take someone like Suarez, no one can call that guy timid. He just do not care who agrees with him or not, he wants to win or score. That is what he is giving barcelona. Off course neymar and messi are better players than him.
