If Obi Mikel were not useful to the successes of Chelsea he'll not be retained for as long as 8 years running and still being considered for a role in Maurino's plan. Obi Mikel even if sidelined now, has outlived the likes of Essien, Kalou, Drogba, Demba Ba etc. at Chelsea. He has had the best of his time at Chelsea and has requested to be released for another opportunity elsewhere as done by Drogba. Baba Rahman is just about 3 weeks in Chelsea therefore there's no bases for any comparism with Mikel who is in his 9th season at Chelsea and has won many trophies including European Champions league. Baba Rahman is young at Chelsea so compare him with his co-equals and classmates and not Mikel.

I am sure you are aware Chelsea is not a charity organisation to have kept Mikel on their payroll for up to 9 years if he hadn't been useful for their campaign in both the EPL and European Championship. Obviously, Baba Rahman could just be shipped away for loan to join Atsu and 40 other Chelsea players on loan by January transfer windows to join others scattered all over Europe. Chelsea simply wants to use Baba Rahman as a chipping bargain for prospective bigger sales in future if his form manages to peak in future. Mikel no longer falls in the same category as Baba Rahman therefore there's no bases of comparing the two because Mikel has had the best of his playing time at Chelsea and does not need to be worried about playing time that in your opinion requires any comparism with a newcomer Baba Rahman. Amazingly, Mikel did not only outlive Essien, Drogba, Kalou etc. He survived the era of the likes of Lampard and Andie Cole as well. @Saint Ghfou, allow Baba Rahman to peak at the right time and please stop your illusionary nightmare of seeing Baba Rahman have a regular playing time in his first 3 weeks at Chelsea. Chelsea is a serious business minded club that is guided and regulated strictly by laws in the UK, for which being a champion doesn't matter if business of football for them goes wrong they could be relegated and, that's why Chelsea has about 40 players on loan just for the purpose of business and not neccessarily to come play football at Stampford Bridge.

What they don't understand is the big teams play margins...they can buy you for 30mil but that is just a hedge in case they need you..so you sit on bench. If they never use you they will try and recoup as much of the 30mil do ...

His coaching methods and tactics aren't good for modern football, except that he's got those trophies under his belt, and that makes him believe he's on top of the world. He's scouted and recruited all the best materials there is but can't seem to make the right choices. And the results are showing in the on-going EPL, as Chelsea continue to flop each match. It's unbelievable how he could lure Ghana's back line pillar like Baba Rahman who is rated as one of the best defender in Germany, Africa and probably in the world and yet decide to bench him while Chelsea keeps on flopping in the league. Mourinho is just a bogus coach. Period!
