  It is no wonder the Sunyani area 2 boys won the cup. If we are talking about football in Brong Ahafo and for that matter Sunyani, the first person from the Brong Ahafo Region to play National Team, called BEN ADASI-FOFIE is a indigene from the Sunyani Area 2. The area abounds with more talents and it is the seat for Sunyani indigenes. Both B/a United and Bofoakwa Tano was formed on the soil of Sunyani Area Two. That is why I prostested against the National Group that awarded the 1963 and 1965 Black Star Players who won the cup just because they did not include Mr. Ben Adasi-Fofie who is still alive at House Number E.15/2 adjacent to Mr.Sam Bennet mother's House. Again also one of the emerging stars from the Sunyani Aea 2 to play for the National team is MR. RICHARD BARNIE SNR. A midfielder for the Ghana Black Stars who won the 1965 & 1965 African Cup of Nations. So it is not wonder. Many big names in Ghana Soccer lads have stayed area 2 before like Kwasi Owusu, Joe Derchie, Kwakye,Dan Owusu, late Seth opoku of Arsenals and King Faisal, and in the 1970's Bofoakwa Tano used to host most of their players at House Number E.1/2 and that served that motivation to play and geared interest in football. Late King George Arthur, Coach Kwasi Appiah, Ntow Gyan, Kwame Asare Agyabeng, Isaac Oppong (Boyaa), Stephen asante,Alex Opoku, Afriyie Acquah, Godfred Donsah and others have all played a colts team belonging to Sunyani Area 2 Citizens like myself and others.

  I have been appealing for the construction of a Regional Sports Stadium for Sunyani.This Region and Eas tern Region Upper West and Upper East have been left out . For B/Ahafo you count of names in Football who are from there Names like Baba Yara from Kintampo Kwasi Owusu Agyeman Gyau Daniel Owusu Akwasi Appiah Asamoah Gyan George Arthur and many more. I have ask for the same Stadium for Koforidua the Eastern Regional Capital I quite remember Eastern Rovers and Susubiribi so why are we denying this 3 regions a Regional Stadium? .
