In Africa soccer is the main sport for everyone. For the minnows, when they get to play Ghana, Nigeria, Egypt, Algeria, they are bringing their best game. In this instance, all these Comoros players were born and raised in France and play lower divisions. This was a chance for them to shine and possibly boost their careers. They have nothing to lose. On the other hand, Ghana is hoping to have an easy two games and then had to step up their game when it became more challenging. At the end of the day, strong teams find a way out and they did so let us regroup and get our front line in order now that the competition is tougher.

1. In every African nation football is the number one sport.
2. For many of these minnows, they have many players who play for lower divisions in Europe so they are not just coming off the "cyto pitch".
3. In some cases, like in Comoros, the entire team is born and raised in France. They are not just going to accept defeat. They are going to fight so that they can get a big contract down the road for being part of the team that pulled off the upset.

Technically, our Black Stars are plain and simple, old or aged. I honestly do not see a bright future for Black Stars and our status as a power house in Africa soccer may be shifting to Nigeria. Our youth teams were disaster whereas, that of Nigeria, exceptional. Future National teams can be seen from youth development, in this case, GFA has failed Ghana miserable and there is no justification retaining the current GFA executive to continue to lead our sport. These GFA executives only cares how to make money then developing the sport in Ghana and completely ignored the domestic league which has a direct negative impact of youth development.

Their weakness is that they lack a powerful striker. IF they get that, they could pull off some upsets. Remember, all of their players are from lower divisions in France and were born and raised there. They could develop into a dangerous group. Fortunately, we did what we had to do. We had the stronger side.

Comoros should be credited for being stout on defense and staying compact but to be honest when they did get counter attack opportunities in this game it was clear that they lack the quality. A stronger side would have beat Ghana with a few well organized counter attacks but it was evident that unless our defense or goalie made a really stupid mistake, they were not going to score. It was nerve racking because the ball can bounce anywhere but not because Comoros was an offensive threat. I credit their defense though.

It was a scary game by all standards with the Comoros players, in trying to avoid humiliating defeat, recoiling for much of the game into defensive shell.

The Black Star coaching staff must , in the future, acquire scouting reports on all our opponents and handcraft strategies for each team by choosing specific players for each formation they plan to deploy. The major problem is that Grant may not have enough time to practice each of the strategies because the players have to be hauled in from all over the world a few days before each game each time.
