The world's best-16, non-African players should be embedded in the 16 Afcon-qualified countries, one player for each team.
For example, Suarez will play for, say, Ghana, Jerome Boateng for Tunisia, Messi for Namibia, Neymar for Gabon, Ronaldo for Congo DR, etc.
The assignment should be by the drawing of lots (balls in a bowl), done at the same time as the country-vrs.-country match-up drawings.
I know the detractors will protest by saying this is an African event so we don't want outside players.
But imagine the profile, the attendance, the revenue, the skill on display, the learning and the overall higher standard of the game.
Think about it, CAF.
Of course, some of them may not initially be willing to play, but as time progresses, they might become believers.
