It has nothing to do with playing for Ghana, but under the management of the current GFA executives.

Personally, I would want him to play for Ghana not because I am a Ghanaian, but because I feel he will feel more welcomed and at home playing for Ghana. But with him playing for Man. U, l don't think Ghana has a chance signing him. Man. U is the most racist team in England, period. C'mon guys, it's the truth. Only a few native Africans ever play for that team. If you see a black player in Man. U. colors, chances are he plays his international football for France, or another European country say Holland or Belgium; or for a South American country say Brazil, Ecuador etc. Man. U will give whatever excuse they can not to sign a native African player. If an African player plays for them, they will advise him not to choose to play for an African country. It is their former racist coach, Sir Alex who once said, "I can't afford to loose a player every two years to go play for 2 months in some tournament in Africa". Just think about it, the same coach can however afford to loose a player for 2 months every two years to go play for the "Copa Americana" in South America, and for the "Euros" in Europe. I knew before Ghana tried to recruit Welbeck that Man. U. will advise him against playing for an African country. I know for sure Ofosu Mensah will get all the playing time he needs with Ghana. I also know that Ghanaians will receive him with open arms. I just hope that this decision is not being forced on him. Well, good luck Mr. Mensah. The Black Stars' talent pool is very limited. It consists of roughly 40-50 (overage!!) players. Germany, in comparison, can choose between 100 or more players (10 quality keepers!!!) because of talent development and the Bundesliga. We must stop blaming others for our own defeciancies and shortcomings.
2. CAF should try to improve the perception of its premier tournament. The ANC is a big joke. It's a third tier tournament. Even CONCACAF tournaments and those of the Asian federation rank above ANC. Ask yourself: would you like to play in empty stadia, participate in a poorly organized tournament?

We Africans play our tournament to suit our climatic conditions (the weather seasons), not to suit some other people' whims and caprices (people who think we should change our time table to accommodate their league system). Despite all their racist views and thinking, how many European titles have racist Manchester United won compared to say Bacelona that recruits players all over the world based on merit. Eto'o, Yaya Toure, Seidu Keita and others have all played for Barcelona at one time or the other. At a time when they were on top of the world soccer, Barcelona had two players from Mali playing in their team. Abd yes, Mali is in Africa.

No, you are not changing your schedule to accommodate the European leagues but it will be beneficial to African Players and African countries.

Some of these African Players who earn their living playing in Europe sometimes use injuries to avoid playing in Africa tournaments in order to protect their positions in European teams so some use injuries to stay with their clubs when our countries need them.

Until Africa leagues become financially sound to keep these Players in our local leagues, we have to do what will benefit both the Players and Africa countries.
