  Many Ghanaian football fans don't realize that a lot of our players are average. Some of the players are talented but can't perform. Others are not talented enough but working hard. To succeed internationally, in Europe especially, a player has to perform. So all our players need to work extra hard as Razak is saying. I've seen amateur footballers master scoring from free kicks just by practicing persistently and I wonder why none of our players have this skill. I guess their paychecks are big enough and therefore not hungry anymore.

  Great point. I hope the players will heed to his advice. Everything he has said is true. We need to go out and represent not just to fit in.

  I wrote a comment on Atsu's move to Porto after a disappointing spell at Chelsea before reading Abdul Razak's timely and wise counsel to aspiring Ghanaian professional footballers. Those who want to play professional football must train like their entire life and career depend on it before they leave Ghana. Practice makes perfect. I met a Cameroonian guitarist in Nigeria. He was good but he knew he had much room for improvement so he practised day and night. When I'm going to bed he's practising; I wake up to go to the bathroom he's still playing and by morning time when I wake up he's still sitting on the same chair practising. Within six months this guy had become such a fantastic guitarist within a short space of time that his fellow musicians from Cameroon marveled at his speed and dexterity on the instrument. That's how much aspiring professional footballers should practise in every department of the game. The professional leagues in Europe have no place for learners, weaklings, dummies and slothful players. I will recommend, in line with Razak's wise counsel that they do at least 4x of what they presently do in the form of practise and preparation before they can be considered worthy replacements in leagues that have high expectations and which experience a great deal wear and tear among its professional athletes.
