When it comes to soccer and the Black Stars for that matter we must leave our partisan politics out of it. The Minister has demonstrated his dislike for the Black Stars and the GFA from day one of his appointment. His has this useless idea that the nation should invest in other lesser sports and not concentrate our efforts and resources on soccer. But every nation has its comparative advantage in some sporting events and so it is useful to invest more in that. Kenya, Morocco, Ethiopia have advantage in long distance running. West Africans have comparative advantage in Soccer and to some extent boxing. Even if we need to develop that other sporting events it must be with mutual dialogue and consensus and not this Rambo style of going about things.

We need to criticise constructively void of political lenses. I think the ministry need to be recommended for taking such a giant decision. The reason why Ghanaian sports is declining is that we are spending so much of our scarce resources on the black stars at the expense of the junior national teams and other lesser known sports in the country. The disabled team is preparing for the Paralympics in Rio but they are Cash trapped so why can't we spent part of the money to send them there. In my candid opinion the ministry has done well by giving the black stars $2500.That is what we can afford period. If they are so patriotic like the deputy captain who paid their air tickets to honour this match then they should tell the ministry to add their winning bonuses to the disabled paralympic contingent to Rio.

The NDC gov't has totally failed Ghanaians; everything is in a mess right now as the Sports Minister and the gov't is finding ways to break the spirit of the National Team. But try as they will, nothing is going to stop our gallant boys from achieving what the have set their eyes upon. Imagine Andre Ayew providing air tickets for invited players who can't afford to buy their own tickets to camp? Such is the spirit of men who're willing to die for their country and a corrupt, clueless and incompetent President and his gov't who don't know where the Sun is shinning. These crazy schemes shows that Nii Lantey Vanderpuije is a bogus Sports Minister. It's pathetic!

The NDC under John Mahama have destroyed Ghana's economy to the extent that gov't can't find money to pay Teachers and Nurses allowances, as well as find money to keep our Black Stars. But instead of finding good solutions, the Sports Minister would rather bully the GFA and Sports Ministry. It's time to vote out the corrupt and incompetent Mahama-led NDC gov't before they totally destroy everything.

My question is this - where is all the money GFA receives from FIFA and friendly matches the Black Stars play? For once, I think the Sports Minister is doing something right. When monies are given by FIFA to GFA, the GFA claims autonomy, says it is accountable to no-one, and Nyantakyi and co use the monies as they want. They don't report their incomes and expenditure to anyone, not even the Ministry of Sports. When the gov't or any organization tries to audit them or probe into their finances, the GFA calls on FIFA which threatens to ban Ghana from international football if GFA is touched. So the GFA is a law unto itself. Now, when it comes to expenditure like what we are experiencing about players air tickets, WHY does the GFA want to Sports Ministry to pay the bill? Why shouldn't the GFA be responsible for that and pay from its coffers, like the way they take in all receipts? So much corruption in the bold-faced liar Nyantakyi's corrupt organization. The Minister therefore is right - if the GFA cannot sponsor the plane tickets to fly in these expensive players, then they should use local-based players to honor the match against Rwanda. It absolutely makes sense. After all, the match is only for academinc purposes since Ghana has already qualified for the next stage. Bravo, Nii Lante....
