i agree with the first part of your comment but not the last part,...i would handle the last part first,,Ghana may never have a better coach like grant for a very long long time...sometimes i wonder what you guys know about football,we should be thankfull we have such a high profile coach like Avram grant.....you talked about the statistics dont matter and i agree with you 50-50,.....my point is i dont think we should be suprised when Ghana dominate in international football esp european teams,we do that all the time,i have never seen ghana dominated by any european team,not even brazil in germany 2006,but just like brazil we dominated that game like 65-35,we were beaten 3-0.........we dominated england in the friendly at wembley but only came out with a draw,we dominated spain in our first ever world cup match in germany but ended up losing 2-0......thats where avram grant is here to work on,....too much [SMALL POST] has created too much mid-fielders and players who are more concerned about [ABA-TE]than scoring goals,even though that is given us a unique style of play where people all over the world watch ghana play and they fall in love with ghana football and sympathize with us...what we need is another goal scorer like asamoah gyan because for as long as i can remember,whenever asamoah gyan is not in that team,we struggle and it needs to change from the grassroots!

Grant ranks highest among coaches Ghana has ever had in terms of coaching profile. But the question is should we be happy with the performance of the Black Stars? Do we think he's anywhere close to building a world cup standard team, something similar to our 2010 team? The answer to these questions is hell no. Grant's high coaching profile isn't translating into an improved Black Stars. May be he isn't hungry anymore and taking us for a ride. It's just unconscionable how substandard every aspect of our game is under such a high profile coach. I will tell you that for sure we don't have a goalie. I will also tell you that our defense is horrible, just from the ease with which the Russians went through us. We also don't have creative midfeilders. Our midfilders challenge and win the ball but they can't hurt the opponent with incisive passing. Beyond doubt, we don't have strikers but the buildup from defense to midfield and to the front is poor. Just imagine the combination of dumb and aimless passes with useless strikers. These are all problems we shouldn't be having if the coaching is good.

One major problem that has bedevilled the Black Stars for a long time now is their inability to shoot on target most of the time in order to score goals. It's no wonder therefore that although they outplayed the Russians, the latter were better in that they shot on target 5 times while the Stars did so only 3 times. It's no wonder that the Russians won.

One may recall that during the World Cup in Germany, the Stars similarly far outplayed the Brazilians, having possessed the ball with a higher percentage, but the Brazilians beat them 3-0. Likewise, during the last Afcon tournament held in Equatorial Guinea, Ghana outplayed the Ivorians, but they couldn't score goals and thus forced the match into penalty shoot-outs that the latter won. In that final match, both Andrew Ayew and Christian Atsu each shot and hit the Ivorian goal post and so didn't score.

All this means that a team may do all the rights things on the field all right, but without scoring goals it all means nothing. It's therefore necessary for the coach and the technical team as a whole to do something and solve this perennial problem.

The problem is in the striking department. Why always Jordan. What does the coach see in him? It is obvious the guy is not up to the task as the leading striker of the team. Almost in every game he has played, he has been mediocre. It is this coach's duty to unearth a striker, and give them many chances as he has given to Jordan in order to build their confidence. What have all the monitoring of players in Europe produced? What about Waris and Antwi in Egypt. Even Acam should not be dropped after he flopped once, given him more chances to build his confidence. How many chances has Jordan had and yet failed to live up to expectation. And please don't drop Kwaresey after only one try. He is our best goalkeeper as at now.
