If the next coach spends all his time in Accra teaching new coaches but doesn't secure an Inaki Williams or a Gideon Jung then he will be just as ineffective as Avram Grant.

This is just a rumour. Ghana can go and win in Egypt and all of a sudden Grant will be in demand to stay. We went to Lome and won. The replacement may be Uganda's Micho or Rajevac or Abdul Razak. Hopefuly not Kwesi Appiah.

What is the logic in all these talk about developing our league??!! WHAT HAVE PEOPLE BEING SAYING ALL THE TIME- OUR LOCAL COACHES ARE SOOOO GOOD TO HANDLE THE BLACK STARS??? When was the last time that any of our so-called premier league teams was able to reach the semi-final of either the champions league(African-version?) or Confederation cup?!?! Instead we have ghanaian players playing in foreign teams and winning trophies upon trophies with their various clubs all over the world! It is not the foreign coach's work to develop the local league RATHER IT IS THE DUTY OF THE GFA TO PROVIDE THE INFRASTRUCTURE AND PROPER ATMOSPHERE AND CONDUSIVE CONDITIONS TO FOSTER THE DELOPMENT OF A VIBRANT AND STRONG LEAGUE! OUR GHANAIAN LOCAL COACHES ARE MOSTLY LAZY AND " ARCHAIC", we have only a couple of them who continually undertake various courses and programmes at their own costs to develop and enhance their potentials and knowledge about their profession, the rest put the hands between their laps and wait for the GFA to organize 5 to 10 day courses to up their knowledge about football coaching! If really GFA is really serious about hiring a qualified coach to develop the local league, they can get one FOR FREE from any of the top European football countries ! During the days of the former "GAFA" there were such "experts" in Ghana! This happened under DEVELOPMENT AID PROGRAMS OF THE VARIOUS COUNTRIES! The GFA or the MOYS would only have to humble themselves and make use of such opportunities:- SEEK , AND YOU SHALL FIND! ASK , AND YOU SHALL RECIEVE!!! THE GFA HAS BECOME A CLUB OF CLUB-OWNERS ALWAYS FIGHTING FOR THEIR OWN SURVIVAL EITHER FINANCIALLY OR FOR POSITIONS ON THE LEAGUE TABLE AND SO ARE THEREFORE FIGHTING THEIR OWN "PERSONAL" BATTLES! THIS CLIQUE OF CLUB-OWNERS DON'T CARE A HOOT OF HOW TO STRENGTHEN THE LOCAL LEAGUE, BUT RATHER HOW TO GET THEIR MONIES OR INVESTMENTS THRU PER DIEMS (AS MANAGEMENT C'TTEE MEMBERS ) PLAYER BONUSES AND TRANSFER FEES, WHEN THEY MANAGE TO SELL PLAYERS ABROAD! THERE WERE SOME FOREIGN COACHES WHO USED TO WORK WITH INTERNATIONAL PLAYER AGENTS AND MADE FORTUNES THRU PLAYERS TRANSFERE TO EUROPE , that was why they accepted the "meagre" pay from GFA; however these coaches refused to renew their contracts because the "Clique"might have also wanted a bigger "slice" from the "cake" in exchange for a small pay rise! NOW THE "CLIQUE" HAS TOTAL CONTROL OF THE TRANSFER BUSINESS AND SO CAN RELAX: GRANT MIGHT HAVE USED HIS HEAD TO FIND A WAY OF "SUPPLEMENTING" HIS MEAGRE" PAY WITH APPEARANCES IN THE "SKY" FAMILY , THE GFA MIGHT HAVE TOLERATED THIS UP TILL NOW. UNFORTUNATELY DUE TO VARIOUS REASONS THE PERFORMANCE OF THE BLACK STARS HAD NOT BEEN ALL THAT ENCOURAGING IN THE LAST FEW MATCHES AND THIS HAS RESULTED IN THE ONGOING "WAHALA" ! THE QUESTION IS , IS SHOWING GRANT THE EXIT DOOR AFTER EGYPT THE RIGHT THING TO DO?! MY "THOUGHTS" WOULD SIMPLY BE , THE DEVIL YOU KNOW IS BETTER THAN THE ANGEL YOU DON'T KNOW: FOR 21 MONTHS GRANT HAS BEEN TOLERATED AND JUST 3 MONTHS TO THE END OF HIS CONTRACT YOU TERMINATE THE CONTRACT AND PAY HIM OFF! 2) Poor facilities, pitches, incompetent journalists, and ungrateful fans.

3) Unreasonable demands, and constant critics.

Basically, the same problems every other coach has dealt with. NO GOOD COACH WILL COME TO GHANA...PERIOD. Even if you pay him 70,000 - month, he will not come..
