All these players were and are exceptional players both in their time and even today. Aggrey Fynn? Those who knew the guy could tell how exceptional he was with the Republicans. What a force he was.

All these players were and are exceptional players both in their time and even today. Aggrey Fynn? Those who knew the guy could tell how exceptional he was with the Republicans. What a force he was.
Talk of Sunday? Africa No. 1 player?The skill, speed, stamina, the flare of his play should win him the honor.
Adolf Armah? No one then, could challenge Adolf Armah. Joe Ghartey was equally beautiful to watch.
And of course, we all know Essien, the Bison. The midfield master. At one point he was the best midfielder in the world.
The truth though is that they were all superb in their days. Honor them all equally.

When anybody wants to chop the money of Ghanaians, they introduce a competition via voting. This is very foolish especially in the current case where nominees are made of players of the current generation and old. For most older generation players, the expected voters of today who are the youth and mobile phone fanatics, greater of whom will vote did not see them. We have only heard about them. How can the voting be thus vote. Common sense will be to use a panel of experts who saw all players throughout their playing days. There are many coaches and sports administrators around to help with this.

Great point.Apart from Essien,I only saw Adolf Armah in his playing days.I did not see Ibrahim Sunday,Aggrey Fynn,and Joe Ghartey so how do I compare them ?.Unfortunately there are no video tapes of their matches for us to watch to compare.Yes, I did not see Pele in his playing days but I have watched many of his matches on YouTube and I have a good idea of how great he was. Not so with our old players.

Fantastic players - Adolf Armah, Ibrahim Sunday, Joe Ghartey. They all rate better that Michael Essien. But I'll give Aggrey Fynn the edge. Great mid-field man, fantastic captain

I saw Adolf Armah and of course I've seen Michael Essien and in my humble opinion, Adolf is better than Essien.The midfield Generalissimo Adolf Armah was a better dribbler and gave more accurate passes than Essien. Adolf was far more a skillful player than Essien. What about Albert Asase (Asase J )??

What did any of these guys ever win other than one cup in Africa? Just look at Essien's wiki page and that says it all. Also this is an apples to oranges comparison. Essien at his peak had bags of stamina and dominated the best in Europe...look it up and played in the world cup. All these other guys were dribblers and show boaters. Essien kept it clean and dirty when needed, won the ball and scored important goals. Essien pretty much won everything other than the World cup but still played in it.
