Ghanaian youngster Ropapa Mensah has been named as the most valuable player for his USL side Richmond City Islanders in their 2-0 win over New York Red Bull II. The former Inter Allies lanky forward capped a hugely productive outing with a sumptuous assist to earn himself the most outstanding player on the pitch.
The skillful youngster rose to the podium with a commanding 41 percent of the votes cast, beating team mates Paul Wilson by a whopping 9 percent. James Thormas came third with an impressive 20 percent whiles Mohamed Dabo only earned 7 percent of the votes.
Ropapa Mensah, Fredrick Yamoah, and Abass Mohammed all joined City Islanders from Inter Allies in a year long loan deal. The Ghanaian trio have so far impressed their USL side whiles on loan and look set to be handed a permanent contracts at the end of the season.
