Ghanaian defender Abraham Akwasi Frimpong has expressed delight with his side's progression to the next stage of UEFA Europa League.
Frimpong was impressive for his side as they defeated Russian side FC Krasnodar 2-1 to reach the group stages of the competition.
The Ghanaian admits the game was tough as Krasnodar are a very good side but they were resolute and determined to win to book their place in the group stage.
“This was a very tough game as it was the last knockout game to the group stage,” Frimpong told footballmadeinghana.com
“It was like a final. We lose the first leg by three goals to two and we needed a win to sail through. We were very determined and we got it,”
Frimpong has been one outstanding for Red Star since his move from Napredak Krusevac in January this year.
